Responsible for organizing and maintaining SOX documentation for the Bank, including SOX narratives and matrices.
Coordinates testing of SOX controls with internal and external auditors.
Proactively follows up with management to ensure timely and adequate clearance of control and policy deficiencies identified.
Works to identify weaknesses in financial controls or processes and to create plan to remediate
Proactively recommends process, service, or technology improvements that will result in cost reduction, improved productivity, and service performance.
Coordinates execution of the vendor management program, including identifying "critical' and "high risk" vendors, coordinating the completion of annual risk assessments, working with management to obtain applicable financial, SOC reports and other pertinent documentation in evaluating and documenting vendor risk.
Partners with key Bank personnel and others to ensure that financial, performance, risk, and compliance requirements are being met, and remediates any gaps or deficiencies related to third-party service provider's compliance management system or ability to comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Prepares detailed reports for presentation to Senior Management and the Board of Directors advising them of pertinent issues relative to internal audit and vendor management issues.
Develops and maintains a working knowledge of banking laws and regulations by reading various publications and circulars and attends seminars and meetings with peers.
Ensures Bank policies, procedures and processes are updated to reflect changes in law or regulations; recommends changes to policies, procedures and processes to minimize risk.
Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members or in overload situations.
Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank's goals and values; and benefits the Bank through outside activities.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Experience
Accounting, Finance or related bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 1-2 years of banking experience in audit, accounting or SOX internal controls role
Previous banking and regulatory reporting experience preferred
Knowledge of Fiserv System helpful
Licenses and Certifications
Ability to effectively communicate with departments, auditors, and other third parties
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Outlook and Word
Ability to multi-task/prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines
Strong problem-solving abilities
Sound judgment and decision-making ability
Ability to learn and utilize a variety of PC Software
Excellent mathematical skills
Ability to sit for long periods of time up to 75% of work hours.
Ability to use hands to grasp, handle or feel.
Ability to use computer keyboard and system to enter data and process information.
Ability to talk, hear, and see.
Ability to use telephone to communicate with customers and employees.
Ability to use office equipment such as personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, adding machine, etc.
Moderate sound as in business office with office machines, computers, and people traffic.
