We are looking for a talented and experienced Financial Controller to join our growing team!

As our Financial Controller, you will be a central cog in our organizational wheel responsible for the accuracy of our data to enable us to confidently shape our strategic objectives and secure customer trust.

Requirements

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and mentoring a small and growing team of property accountants throughout the country and guiding them as necessary.
  • Coordinating the corporate accounting function, including maintaining the general ledger and the consolidation of international entities.
  • Preparing the monthly close accounting cycle and financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including well-supported journal entries.
  • Performing bank and account reconciliations, enabling error-free accounting reports and present their results to senior management.
  • Reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Leading the year-end close process and interaction with external auditors.
  • Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and mitigate risks.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal control policies across the business.
  • Overseeing the A/P function and tenant / owner receipts, including internal transfers and charges and ensuring the appropriate controls are maintained.
  • Supporting the CFO to prepare periodic budgeting reports, reports on performance vs budget, equity and debt raising documents, stockholder communications, in maintaining investor cap table and analyzing acquisition candidates.
  • Various administrative tasks, including necessary operational permits, annual insurance renewals and government agency reporting.

The following requirements are considered for the role:

  • Active CPA with 7+ years of experience in accounting, financial and analytical roles.
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Preferred Industry Exposure: Public Accounting (Big 4) and/or Property or Insurance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with general accounting, month-end close procedures, eliminations and consolidations, controls, internal reporting & analytics, and working with external auditors.
  • Good knowledge of US GAAP; conceptual and practical experience in researching, understanding, and communicating technical accounting issues and conclusions.
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, accuracy, ability to work independently and multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).

Provides expert professional assistance to the Director of Real Property Management in areas of expertise. Applicants may be invited to the selection process based on specific criteria in their resume that may include prior management experience with large scale contruction project management, contracts and construction project estimating in a public sector setting, mechanical engineering experience, and experience in a public agency similar to Clark County. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration or a field related to the work AND six (6) years of full-time administrative and/or professional level experience in a design/construction, property management and/or administrative services setting providing similar internal support services, three (3) years of which were in a management capacity. Possession of an advanced degree desirable. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.
