HCA's AmeriCorps State Program will focus on two primary services; Community Outreach and Financial Education. Community Outreach:

AmeriCorps members will conduct various outreach activities in partnership with service providers, community partners, and public and private educational institutions to increase awareness and access to HCA's programs and services. Community outreach activities include drafting and distributing marketing materials, speaking at community events and fairs, soliciting new partnerships for the organization and supporting staff at community events and workshops. Financial Literacy Workshops.

Financial Literacy Workshops will be conducted by HCA AmeriCorps members serving as Kahua Waiwai Financial Trainers. 2- to 4-hour workshops will feature the organization's culturally-relevant Kahua Waiwai: Building a Foundation of Wealth curriculum and include information on budgeting/financial planning, banking, credit and debt management, types and uses of credit, the importance of saving plans and rental readiness. Through these two activities, AmeriCorps members will contribute to desired outcomes for HCA and its clients.

These outcomes include a decrease in youth homelessness, higher educational attainment, small-business ownership, opening of bank accounts, and decreased reliance on predatory financial products. In its 14 years, HCA believes the best way to achieve these outcomes is through an integrated approach of offering financial education coupled with asset-building programs (i.e. individual development accounts, secured loans, match savings, etc.) and individualized counseling. AmeriCorps members will be providing a significant and unique contribution to the organization by contributing to it's capacity and making HCA staff available to dedicate their time and resources to providing direct services to hawaii individuals and families.

Discovers and responds to customer needs. * Follows Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift. * Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and product as needed. * Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
