This key position will serve in a shared capacity to support both the Investor Relations and Treasury / Credit functions within Magellan. This professional role provides a unique opportunity for an individual with strong analytical skills, initiative, excellent oral and written communication skills and a positive attitude to work with many groups within the company and learn about various facets of our business.

Candidates who are proactive, self-motivated and exhibit leadership qualities are strongly preferred. The ability to think and work independently in a dynamic and time-sensitive environment is essential to success in this role.

Investor Relations: This position will work alongside the primary investor relations representative in various capacities. These duties include assisting with news release preparation and processing, updating presentations for use by senior executives at investor events, addressing basic investor questions and K-1 tax inquiries, providing research and analysis of various topics, trends and vendor proposals as directed by management and learning as much as possible about Magellan through company filings and financial results to serve as an important resource for internal and external inquiries.

Treasury / Credit: This position will also provide support and analysis of treasury and credit-related issues and duties as assigned, including analyzing financial statements of Magellan's customers, establishing, maintaining and monitoring customer credit limits, and gathering, preparing, and maintaining company information for use in presentations and public reporting.

Job Requirements:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree with at least 3-5 years of relevant business experience preferably in a financial area or public-facing position. An MBA, CFA and/or CPA would be helpful as well in this position, while the ability to think critically, analyze financial results, present a professional persona, and have excellent speaking/writing skills are essential.

Position will be filled at a level commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications.


The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English with co-workers, supervisors, internal and external customers; the ability to work in stressful conditions; the ability to adapt and respond in changing circumstances; the ability to use a personal computer with the Windows operating system to create financial spreadsheets, update presentations, send and receive email and access information on the internet.

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other related field and/or equivalent formal education including the following job-related experience: * Ability to interpret and apply financial planning and analysis methods and procedures. * Experience interpreting and applying generally accepted accounting methods and procedures. * Working knowledge and understanding of areas related to finance and treasury. * Application of math, algebra, and statistical methods. * Experience in use of software such as: Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and/or Hyperion Planning or Hyperion Strategic Finance (HSF). * Experience and/or training related to: * Economic forecasting/modeling and planning and forecasting functions * Energy industry economics and financial analysis functions * Communication/interpersonal skills * Commodity marketing * Financial risk management * Report writing * Experience researching, composing, reconciling, and preparing reports, studies, forecasts, financial models and correspondence applicable to position. * Experience reading and analyzing financial statements and company and investor correspondence. * Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively. * Experience working in a team environment. * Forecasting and analysis experience of 3 to 5 years. * Experience developing and presenting information to individuals and groups. * Ability to prioritize work load and deliverables. * Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English. * Communicate and/or exchange information; conduct oral presentations and/or meetings. Certification and Licensing * Certifications preferred, but not required include: * Certified Management Accountant (CMA) * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) * Applicable driver's license for travel to other company offices, facilities and job sites.
