Join the fastest growing plus-size retailer in the nation! The Financial Analyst will assist the Manager in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. Analyzes all levels of the business and interacts with senior management according to project needs. This position reports to Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis.

What You'll Do:

  • Provides financial analysis support to various areas of the company.

  • Assists in the annual budgeting process, including store, web, and corporate expenses, capital expenses, and balance sheet items.

  • Collaborates proactively with department heads to ensure budgeted goals are met.

  • Develops short and long-term financial forecasts.

  • Updates forecast in an accurate and timely manner based on information provided by department heads.

  • Assists with the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial analysis schedules of Actual vs. Budget variances.

  • Provides insightful revenue and expense reporting and analyses on a recurring and ad-hoc basis and enables senior management to make informed decisions.

  • Develops daily store sales plans based on prior-year trends, recent trends, and communication with merchants and senior management.

  • Performs tracking and analysis of store performance.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.

  • 2-4 years related work experience in financial analysis.

  • Prior retail industry and financial modeling experience is preferred.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrates solid MS Excel/spreadsheet skills.

  • Comfortable working with complex financial models.

  • Basic working knowledge of database software.

  • Accounting skills - this position will be working closely with our Accounting department and must have a solid understanding of accounting principles.

  • Dedicated to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to work in a team environment, give direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: * Prepare various financial reports in an accurate and timely manner. Identify and develop new report formats as required by changes in business needs. * Complete analysis/research of financial results including, but not limited to, gross profit, payroll expenses, other direct expenses, and indirect expenses. Analysis to include comparisons to plan and prior year performance. * Communicate findings in an easy to understand manner for non-financial, internal customers at various levels in the organization. * Serve as an administrator of the Quinn Business Reporting Tool which requires acting as the liaison to the IT department and/or outside consultants to resolve system issues, manage user access and provide end user training and support. * Support the annual budget preparation process working closely with the Operations teams. * Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data. * Maintain current and updated knowledge of accounting related technology systems used in the Company. * Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential. * Develop methods and/or procedures to enhance efficiency of work performed. * Assist with improving the accuracy of accounting results through report creation and enhancement. * Provide back-up for Manager, Financial Reporting and Analysis. * Other projects and duties as assigned. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
