Financial Analyst, Sr/Consultant
Insurance experience with 3 or more years of P&C experience.
Perform regularly scheduled and ad-hoc accounting and financial reporting and analysis to assist management in the reporting and analysis of Company results. If applicable, develop, document and maintain a forecasting/modeling system in order to establish benchmark data at rating attribute level.
Develop and maintain systems and procedures for monitoring Company results, performing in-depth analyses of detail with adverse performance trends. Develop and maintain systems and procedures to track line of business performance, providing reports to management regarding relevant trends. Facilitate quality control and line of business reviews to monitor compliance to established Company guidelines and procedures.
This position will be the key Finance contact and will be responsible for maintaining the proper communication between line of business and the home office. This will be accomplished by attending key meetings and communicating necessary financial information to the Home Office related to Financial Reporting and Accounting guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: 6 - 8 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 8 or more years.
Advanced knowledge of practices within field.
Integrates and evaluates new advancements in industry, concepts, techniques and standards to contribute to successful business results. Considered an expert in the field within the organization.
Decision Making: Makes decisions using broad management limits.
Applies guidelines and procedures that leave considerable room for discretion and interpretation. Decisions directly influence project, client relationships and or expenditures. Additionally, decisions exert some influence on organization's long-range goals and objectives. Participates in determining objectives of assignments.
Supervision Received: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
Leadership: Plans and conducts assignments generally involving the larger more complex projects. May lead or direct projects of significant importance.
Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Applies knowledge to determine solutions to complex problems with minimal direction. Uses research and analysis to develop innovative and practical solutions which are consistent with organizational objectives.
Client Contacts: Manages difficult complex situations and or high impact internal external relationships.
Serves as consultant to management on high impact and complex projects and may also be an external spokesperson for the organization on significant matters pertaining to policies, plans, and objectives. Interaction frequently includes senior internal and external personnel often requiring complex coordination between organizations.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires a Bachelors degree, with a degree in accounting or finance preferred. The candidate will have a minimum of seven (7) years finance or accounting analysis and/or comparable analytical experience.
Three or more years of P & C experience preferred. A thorough knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and modeling is essential. This position requires the ability to work independently with little supervision.
The ability to work directly with Senior Management is essential. Critical thinking and problem solving are also critical attributes for this position. Proficient oral and written communication skills are required.
