Financial Analyst Senior or Consultant (Job Family)

Location: Indianapolis, IN preferred location

Alternate Locations: Atlanta, GA; Virginia Beach, VA

Please Note: This position may be filled at either the Financial Analyst Senior or Financial Consultant level. Manager will determine level based upon the selected applicant's skillset relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

This position is responsible for System Support for the Enterprise Bank Reconciliation Software, CheckFree RECON+, and analytical project support for financial business teams including Cash Accounting and Cash Disbursement functions. A key resource on Anthem Transformation projects involving payments that feed to RECON on the mainframe. Interaction with Anthem claims system resources and external vendors including banks.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifies complex financial and software application problems or issues, researches solutions, and implements corrective steps to support the Finance Team.

  • Advises management of various business operations and software application models and recommendations.

  • Prepares presentations and documentation to be used as a resource by staff or outside departments.

  • Prepare project plans, business requirements and manages the Mainframe related projects.

  • Prepares financial planning, financial section of annual and quarterly reports to shareholders, applicable government reports, and budget reports.

  • Is used as a resource by staff or outside departments.

  • Communicates and assist managers in the preparation of budget and forecast as well as explains variances.

  • Provide Finance System Support for the Enterprise Bank Reconciliation Software.

  • CheckFree RECON+.

  • Analytical project support for financial business teams including Cash Accounting and Cash Disbursement functions. A key resource on Anthem Transformation projects involving payments that feed to RECON on the mainframe.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a BS/BA in accounting or finance.

  • At least two years of experience in general accounting and bank reconciliation processing; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Financial Consultant level requires at least 3-5 years of experience.

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.

  • Proficient in MS Excel required.

  • MS Access experience preferred.

  • SQL experience desired.

  • JAVA programming language experience beneficial but not required.
