The Strategic Planning and Analysis team is the financial and strategic planning arm of Box; ensuring our operations are in-line with our financial and long-term strategic goals. We work closely with executives across the company to plan Box's future and align resources to the highest impact areas.
We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join the team that supports our CFO (and cofounder!), Chief People Officer, and General Counsel. In this role, you will be responsible for helping ensure we provide air-tight financial planning support across our GTM Operations, People, Finance, Legal, IT, and Workplace Services orgs. Responsibilities will include budget management and maintenance, headcount planning, variance analysis and reporting, financial forecasting and ad hoc financial analysis. In addition, you will play a critical role as an internal process champion helping to improve existing financial workflows, drive standardization across SP&A teams, and develop more insightful reporting to build stronger partnerships across the company and influence spending behavior across Box.
Manage budget and headcount across multiple organizations; track ongoing performance, risks and opportunities, and provide insightful budget vs actuals reporting to enable smarter spending decisions
Prepare monthly financial forecast updates, based on deep understanding of trends, risk and opportunities, and our strategies
Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly reporting/close cycle; identify opportunities to "get ahead of the curve" on close activities to reduce month-end burden
Drive and/or support ad hoc financial analysis to influence change in our operations or strategies
Identify and implement process and workflow improvements within the SP&A team to drive more efficient, standardized support for our partners
Candidates are required to be highly analytical and very effective communicators with a minimum of 2-3 years of finance partnering or budget management experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of using analysis to influence decision-making, and be able to successfully articulate insights and outcomes to executives and peers. 2+ years of experience in a quantitative role. Demonstrable experience attacking large challenges, and using analytical insights and strong communication skills to influence decision making
Exceptional attention to detail
Able to create and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Finance partnering and/or budget management experience required
Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills
Anaplan experience is a bonus
