About the Department
The Finance Department's mission is focused on partnering with NYRR operating functions to drive optimal decision making and operating performance by providing accounting direction, financial insight and analysis while serving as the financial stewards of the organization. The Finance department consists of Financial Planning & Analysis and Accounting and covers all aspects of Finance including safeguarding and growing the company's assets, reporting and forecasting performance, including monthly updates to Senior Leadership and preparing Quarterly Updates to the Board, preparation of the annual budget, establishing, and maintaining a functioning set of financial policies, ensuring compliance to audit and generally accepted accounting principles and ethical standards.
About the Position
Reporting to the Head of FP&A, this position will be responsible for i) assisting the Head of FP&A in preparing the consolidated financial results, ii) preparing the budget, forecast, management reports and performing variance analysis for specific admin functions within the organization and iii) preparing ad hoc financial analysis as needed. This requires prior experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. This individual needs to apply critical thinking and intellectual curiosity to their work and must be able to apply basic accounting principles to analyze and forecast financial information and review and interpret financial reports and performance. Duties are outlined below.
Job Responsibilities (primary and secondary duties):
Support Head of FP&A with the consolidation of the organization wide budget and monthly forecast and the preparation of quarterly financial reports for the Senior Leadership Team
Support Head of FP&A in preparing quarterly board materials, including financial reports, cashflow projections, and overall narratives
Primary finance lead for 3 admin functions (HR, Office & Space Operations, and Diversity, Equity & Social Responsibility) to prepare their annual budget and monthly forecast
Review and analyze monthly results and prepare variance analysis to highlight performance trends; includes proactively identifying key areas of potential risks and opportunities
Assist in updating cash flow projections and improving the overall process to ensure accurate reporting
Partner with accounting team to close out each month end, fiscal year and provide assistance in the audit
Other ad hoc financial support and analysis
Job Requirements:
Experience:
7+ years of Financial Planning & Analysis Experience
Prior experience with budgeting/forecasting and base level accounting principles
Prior experience in consolidation and preparation of board reports
Advanced competency in Microsoft Office
Experience with Oracle, NetSuite, and Adaptive Insights a plus
Education and Certifications:

Salary:
70-80K
