JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the Manager IT Finance with varying financial processes. Team duties include coding purchase orders and invoices; analyzing, tracking and reporting recurring IT maintenance, as well as the monthly expense and capital spend. Assists in preparing economic/financial research and analysis for use in the development of business strategies and tactics. The position requires theoretical and practical knowledge of different financial and analytical techniques and the capability to plan own work and respect deadlines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processes invoices and purchase orders

  • Completes the regular monthly, quarterly and annual financial results.

  • Prepares ad-hoc financial estimates, budgets, analysis.

  • Proposes improvements to systems, methods of work and analysis methods and contributes to ensuring that they are continuously adapted to the business requirements.

  • Provides input to the development of long-range financial forecasts and related budgets.

  • Submits findings and interpretations for review.

  • Answer internal and vendor questions about results

  • Assist with the transformation of finance systems through research as well as create documentation and data flows.

  • Participate in cross functional teams that build consensus among internal customers and other finance departments and develop appropriate business case to support recommendations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated problem solving, quantitative analysis and analytical abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Skilled at handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines with high level of accuracy

  • Highly motivated with ability to drive results and work independently

  • Work in a team environment with changing priorities and time constraints

  • Diligent and detail-orientated

  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
