JOB INFORMATION

This role will be part of the newly formed Expense Management team that will focus on building cost transformation capabilities central to Fannie Mae's mission of being a customer-centric, innovative, simple, world-class organization. The team will be involved in identifying actionable initiatives to drive a reduction in operating costs while executing on key business unit (BU) strategies. Use financial analytical tools to make projections of prospective financial performance.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform rigorous financial analysis to identify, quantify and validate specific cost transformation initiatives.

  • Contribute analyses to report being prepared for business unit management to aid in making financial, client, acquisition, or other business decision.

  • Confer with business unit management and staff to acquire operating or financial data for analysis. Using this data, conduct standard or ad hoc analyses to satisfy variety of management objectives.

  • Play technical or project lead role on specific analytical project; provide guidance to less senior analysts; may provide input to developing business requirements for applications needed to accomplish specific analytical or reporting objective.

  • Assist in implementing initiatives that will enhance Fannie Mae's return on capital

  • Prepare business case analysis and reviews for approvals by senior management.

  • Work closely with BU CFO Teams to sustain savings, including providing data, insight and reporting of key metrics to stakeholders.

  • Develop/prepare/contribute to ad-hoc analyses for executives, BUs or other stakeholders.

  • Manage the quality of deliverables and day-to-day analytics.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • 6 years of related experience

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • 6 years of experience in operational and process improvements, cost reductions, financial planning, budgeting & analysis

  • Demonstrated proficiency in: PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, SharePoint, Visio

  • Demonstrated experience in project management of internal or external initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders through fact based, data driven recommendations

  • Prior experience and track record of working cross-functionally and managing stakeholder relationships

  • Ability to educate and inform stakeholders on complex business issues

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management

PREFERRED

  • MBA with management consulting experience

  • Experience with Fannie Mae financial planning, budgeting process, tools and applications

  • Experience with lean six sigma techniques

  • Experience with financial models using Excel/Visual Basic or other analytic platforms like Anaplan / OneStream
