This intermediate analyst role prepares data and reporting for our Financial Planning & Analysis team as well as for decision-makers across our organization. Further, she or he contributes to forecasts and analysis through the production of dashboards, reporting, trend analysis, and research related to our revenue and expense activities. This analyst will be skilled at interpreting data needs from key stakeholders and providing timely, relevant solutions that meet those needs.

Essential Job Functions

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer.

  • Acts as an advocate for children raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one's influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.

  • Gathers, consolidates, and prepares financial data for use in a variety of financial reporting, analysis, modeling, and planning activities.

  • Develops dynamic, robust reporting solutions which deliver financial data in a timely, accurate, insightful manner, using tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Adaptive Insights.

  • Collaborates with senior analysts and other key stakeholders to provide relevant data solutions which assure successful and effective financial planning.

  • Conducts research of financial data to investigate issues, develop forecasts, explain variances, identify trends, and perform analysis.

  • Thinks proactively about the financial data needs of our FP&A function, with a willingness to develop potential reporting ideas, anticipate data requirements, solicit feedback, and ensure the delivery of appropriate solutions.

  • Works individually and cross-functionally on teams, ensuring that all necessary financial data is available and accessible for a diverse audience of users.

  • Troubleshoots data and reporting issues, with the ability to think critically, identify root cause, and implement appropriate solutions.

  • May be required to train users of our financial data on the optimal use of our tools, provide direction on where to find the information they are seeking, and offer guidance on the best way to utilize our financial data to meet their particular needs.

VIEW JOBS 4/19/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-18T00:00 Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Missile Defense & Protective Systems (MD&PS) Division seeks a Financial Analyst to support the AMS Operating Unit and various projects in financial reporting, planning, and analysis activities. The preferred location for this position is Colorado Springs. Teleworking may also be considered at the discretion of the hiring manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * The consolidation and analysis of monthly financial reporting and forecasting; * Providing guidance on EAC and revenue recognition policies/procedures; * Coordination of monthly variance analysis, consolidation and review of annual operating plans; and * Coordinating monthly unbilled AR reviews. * Support programs with development of forward pricing and coordination of monthly overhead variance reporting and forecast updates. This position requires experience using various financial systems (e.g. SAP, BW, Cognos Financial and Forward pricing modules) and will serve as a secondary SAP CPE. This position requires close coordination with MD&PS Division Financial Reporting, Operating Unit staff, and Program Control Analysts. The selected candidate will be able to work independently to develop financial reporting schedules for the OU and track financial reporting actions to closure THIS REQUISITION DOES NOT OFFER RELOCATION ASSISTANCE. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field, with 6 years of related experience or a Master's degree - as described above with 4 years of related experience. (An additional 4 years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree). * Working knowledge of SAP and Business Warehouse. * Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint. * Previous experience preparing and presenting complex financial analysis to senior management. * The willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time. * The ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
