The Department of Financial Services oversees the financial operations of Gwinnett County in compliance with state and federal laws, ensuring fiscal responsibility and superior bond ratings. Department functions include, but are not limited to: investment management, vendor and employee payment, debt issuance and monitoring management, self-insurance and liability programs management, procurement and contracts operations management, tax assessor administration, and strategic program design and deployment.
The Treasury Division provides a number of financial services, including: insuring County assets, settlement of property and liability claims, long- and short-term debt management, capital funding support, cash and investment management, pension investments, disbursements and tax compliance.
Financial Analyst IIsperform complex accounting and/or finance activities in preparing and reconciling financial documents.
The incumbent may:
Analyzes, reconciles, and validates a variety of financial data and information; researches and interprets a variety of records, databases, and logs.
Prepares, reviews, analyzes, and submits a variety of complex and/or special reports, reconciliations, work papers, communications, schedules, tables, and/or statements to and from internal departments, financial institutions, and external agencies.
Provides support to County departments by solving financially related problems and reviewing internal controls
Participates in developing and implementing financial procedures related to data accumulation, reporting, and archiving; analyzes and monitors compliance with financial, reporting, and legal requirements.
Assist with system testing, create test scenarios, and evaluate results.
Audits, complies, calculates, and analyzes a variety of financial data and transactions.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or closely related field;
Four years of professional level accounting experience;
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
This job entails fiduciary responsibility and will require a credit check.
SAP or ERP system background preferred.
