Financial Analyst Hybrid

Summary:

Provides support to the Directors of Finance at Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital (EPBH) and Gateway Healthcare (GWH) and other members of Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital (EPBH) and Gateway Healthcare (GWH) in the areas of financial operations reporting analysis and special projects.

Responsibilities:

Analyzes financial and statistical data used in reports to determine accuracy and relevance.

Investigates and resolves discrepancies or variances as appropriate.

Assists with the creation of annual revenue and expense budgets. Provides monthly budget vs. actual expense reports and analysis for hospital accounts grant/research projects and special purpose funds.

Updates monthly physician finance statements for providers processes aligned incentive payments.

Tracks inpatient discharges for proper billing/collections assists Manager to create tools to assist in charge capture charge review and revenue reconciliation.

Prepares various standard and ad hoc reports including relevant volume cost and profitability data. Completes special analyses and projects as needed. Interprets explains and clarifies financial and statistical data produced.

Coordinates provider service contracts process: this includes final signature of new contracts/MOUs invoice tracking/billing with Lifespan Finance and process payments to providers.

Assists with the preparation of financial and clinical data analyses for administrative and clinical directors and other hospital and LPG managers.

Monitors vendor contracts and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and provide further research/analysis as needed.

Downloads information from hospital decision support systems and other sources to build and maintain databases for the department.

Contributes to appropriate presentation format develops and consolidates materials and information into graphs charts tables PowerPoint slides etc. with the consideration of the purpose and audience.

Other information:

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

Bachelor�s degree in finance business health care administration or related field. Strong understanding of health care finance and hospital financial systems.

Proficiency in the use of computers and a variety of spreadsheet and other business applications specifically Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge and ability to download and merge information from a variety of sources.

Good interpersonal written and oral communication skills for effective interaction with all levels of management staff and physicians.

Ability to organize time prioritize workload and use resources effectively.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Health care finance environment with experience performing financial and quantitative analyses.
