Financial Analyst

At GreenStone Farm Credit Services, we're seeking a dedicated Financial Analyst to join our East Lansing, MI location. This position provides organizational business level financial data, reporting, and analysis to Finance VPs, CFO, leaders, and department staff. Additionally, you will be responsible for accurate financial reporting and data monitoring. You will aim to expand on current financial reporting processes while also analyzing financial trends and giving proactive recommendations based on financial analysis.

Day in the life of a Financial Analyst

• Financial Analysis: Summarize vast amounts of data into meaningful and comprehensive reports, charts, and graphs utilizing various business intelligence tools to assist management and leaders in the decision-making process. Examine large data sets to identify patterns, anomalies, relationships, and trends.

• Financial Reporting: Create and develop accurate, consistent, and timely reporting by extracting information from various applications and systems, manipulating data, and developing user friendly final outputs. Assist in quarterly CECL (credit estimated credit losses) processes and calculations to determine and document an appropriate allowance for loan losses.

• Finance Department Support: Assist Controller with financial budgeting process work as needed. Assist with annual patronage calculations, estimates, and analysis as needed.

What Experience do you bring?

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, agribusiness or related major required.

• Critical thinking with sound accounting judgment and analytic skills are required.

• 1+ years' financial reporting or data analysis experience required.

• Must be proficient in fundamental accounting principles and understanding of accounting transactions.

• Must be proficient in computer technology and Microsoft applications along with financial reporting applications and budgeting systems.

What sets you Apart?

• Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn SQL queries, Power BI, and/or OneStream are helpful.
• 3+ years' financial reporting or data analysis experience preferred.
