Williams-Sonoma is looking for a Financial Analyst to join its Global Finance team based in San Francisco. This is an opportunity to support a broad range of businesses that include Company Owned and Wholesale operations in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia. The Financial Analyst will own reporting for key business initiatives ensuring business partners around the world have access to the data needed to make sound financial decisions and grow their businesses. In addition, the Financial Analyst will take an active role in key financial processes including monthly reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, business analysis and operating reviews. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be resourceful, data-driven, analytical and curious about the inner workings of systems and businesses supported.

Reporting

  • Designing and producing reporting tools and dashboards in Tableau to enhance visibility into the health of the business, particularly relating to new business initiatives and leadership needs.

  • Collaborating with users and management to analyze business reporting needs and gather and document business requirements for report development or modification.

  • Providing Tableau support both administratively and as the Global Tableau subject matter expert including ad hoc report creation, testing, troubleshooting, training, and license management.

Financial Analysis

  • Providing analytical and financial modeling support for Global businesses including development of the annual budget, three-year financial plan, monthly forecasts, and other analyses.

  • Supporting month-end close process for Global through preparation of month-end journal entries, variance analysis, and presentation of close results to senior management.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Business, Management Information Systems, or related field

  • 2-4 years relevant work experience in a reporting or finance role demonstrating analytic skills and systems-reliant decision support. Business Intelligence experience a plus.

  • Must be systems savvy. Experience with Tableau is required. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; advanced financial modeling skills. Experience with NetSuite, Essbase, A3, and Oracle is a plus.

  • Strong consulting, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. Appropriate attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated, flexible, positive attitude, and an intellectual curiosity to investigate issues.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; innovative, organized, thorough.

What You'll Do This position leads the accounting function and will interface with all levels of the organization, as well as the internal and external auditors. In this role, you will own the financial reporting, account reconciliation and overall month-end close processes. Responsibilities include: * Build the accounting organization and serve as point of contact for all external requests * Guide the financial closing and reporting process while driving improvements to quality and timeliness by running a disciplined close process, and coordinating activities and analysis with teams across the accounting and finance organization. * Support the full cycle general ledger monthly close process and related activities to ensure accounts are properly reconciled, reported and in accordance with U.S. GAAP. * Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), share-based compensation, consolidation accounting, accounting for international operations, foreign exchange issues, and purchase accounting. * Team-oriented professional with a "roll-up sleeves" mindset, who promotes a collaborative team effort and celebrates team successes. * Monitor and review the general ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements for all entities, including Roll forward, Sub-ledger, Capital Expenditure, and Cash Flow reports. * Implement, document and maintain effective internal controls based on company guidelines. * Prepare/review auditor documentation requests and work closely with our auditors to ensure successful audits and timely filing of financial statements, including statutory audits for various legal entities.
