Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd., is seeking a Financial Analyst in the Management Reporting area in our Liberty Corner, NJ headquarters. This position will be responsible for assisting in the quarterly preparation of financial results for the Group.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with quarterly accounting close and management reporting process.
Develop knowledge and understanding of the financial systems and data that are critical to the reporting process. Suggest and create time saving solutions.
Prepare quarterly departmental reporting and analysis of financial results.
Prepare and post journal entries, as well as account analysis and reconciliations.
Research general ledger activity and deliver timely and accurate management reporting packages.
Analyze financial results and investigate significant fluctuations or unusual trends.
Provide support in the preparation of the quarterly/annual SEC documents.
Provide management with executive summaries.
Provide support and compliance with internal and external auditors.
Prepare data and analysis for ad hoc requests and special projects.
Work Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a BS/BA degree in accounting or finance with two (2) plus years of accounting/analysis experience, preferably within the property and casualty insurance/reinsurance industry.
Strong technical and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work with large amounts of data.
Ability to work independently and as a fully contributing member of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral.
Individual must be organized, dependable, and display initiative.
Keen attention to detail with ability to multi-task and prioritize in an ever changing environment.
Strong problem solving ability.
Highly skilled in Microsoft Office products, especially in Excel. Strong knowledge of advanced functions, such as Pivot Tables, VBA/Macros, and VLOOKUPS is required.
Experiences with the following are preferred, not required: IBM Cognos TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics, SQL, Qlikview, Power BI and PeopleSoft.
