Role Description:
The Financial Analyst to provide accurate and data-based information on company's profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity. Performing research and analyze financial information to help company make well-informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial health.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Routine duties include:
Sales forecasting quarterly;
Profit/Loss forecasting monthly;
Annual 5 year Outlook (P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flows)
Cash forecasting weekly (2 week outlook) and monthly (13 weeks);
Periodic capacity forecasting for key production equipment;
Reporting of gross margin by part, customer, and product segment;
Support of Month End closing activities and consolidation for the Corporate division;
Prepare daily performance metrics
Compile internal reports and statements and analyze performance compared to operating plan and long term organizational goals;
Provide creative recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance;
Reporting and analysis of tooling profit and loss;
Develop forecasting models for sales, profit/loss, and cash;
Calculate sales price changes for steel price index changes;
Identify trends, evaluate, and recommend actions to organizational leadership;
Consult with management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making within the broadest scope;
Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact forecasting and reporting functions.
Education/Experience/Certifications:
To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (or Bachelor's equivalency) in accounting, finance, or economics; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of practical experience in accounting/financial analysis;
Experience with Financial Planning and Analysis or similar forecasting/budgeting experience;
Tooling/Project accounting
Additional Skills Required:
To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following skills are required:
Computer Skills:
Strong MS Office skillset required; specifically Excel and Access
Previous ERP system experience; Plex experience a plus
Communication skills:
Speak effectively with fellow employees;
Strong business writing skills;
Ability to understand complex documents such as purchase orders, contracts and pricing agreements;
Other Skills:
Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving;
Analytical skills to review and interpret data and make recommendations regarding costs;
Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines.
