Job Description:

Sumo Logic is continuing to build an innovative finance team that is helping the business scale on the IPO journey. We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team. As a key member on a lean team, you will be responsible for creating the structure, process, and reporting for the team to expand our partnership with various business functions. You will play a critical role in providing valuable business insights to drive decision-making. In addition, you will own P&L forecasting for the entire company and the monthly close partnership with accounting.

You must have exceptional financial, analytical and organizational skills and be comfortable juggling multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines. At the same time, you are a top performer in a fast-paced environment and possess the creativity to constantly improve your area of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong business partnerships and enable leaders to make data-driven decisions

  • Own, create, and document the rolling company forecast process

  • Create and consolidate monthly reporting package with key metrics for the executive team

  • Prepare key analysis for quarterly board of directors meetings

  • Prepare data for uploads and build new dashboards in the financial reporting system (Anaplan)

  • Become an Anaplan model builder!

  • Enhance short-term and long-term modeling capabilities

  • Improve and automate processes amongst various departments

  • Perform ad hoc analysis

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years in FP&A/Corporate Finance, SaaS experience strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or equivalent

  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate, analyze, and summarize large data sets

  • Superior analytical and modeling skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel

  • Working knowledge of enterprise-level financial planning systems

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Able to prioritize multiple projects and still be detail-oriented

  • Experience working with a team and collaborating with various functions

FP&A is primarily responsible for forecasting, budgeting, reporting, analysis and business partnering. As FP&A Analyst, you will assist in the implementation of improved global reporting across functions and drive increased accountability of global reporting among our colleagues. Responsibilities * You prepare quarterly trend analysis of company performance to assist with quarterly earnings deck and other presentations to Equinix Leadership and the Board of Directors * Analyze operating results on a regular basis and develop appropriate commentary for key stakeholders and executive management to facilitate decision-making including; bookings performance, capital expenditures and non-financial key performance indicators * You will lead activities to streamline and simplify global reporting processes including global alignment, creation of standard trend reporting, etc. * Partner with IT to drive system enhancements to improve overall reporting process * Prepare presentations to effectively communicate key business drivers and trends while ensuring data is accurate, organized and of high quality * Run ad-hoc analysis to assess the impacts on the forecast of key business decisions; including new projects, investments in capital expenditures, etc. * Assist with the development, consistent definition, and tracking of key performance indicators * Partner with regional FP&A teams, corporate development, and SEC team in preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting * Support adhoc reporting requests * You facilitate Bookings and CAPEX forecast review meetings with the regional FP&A teams as well as corporate development teams to understand actual results and changes in forecast * Coordinate templates and consolidation for quarterly results across multiple geographies and multiple functions * Become the subject matter expert and key point of contact for regional and functional finance teams for budgeting and forecasting Bookings, CAPEX and other non-financial key performance indicators * Support ad-hoc budgeting and forecasting requests * You regularly review the form and content of the information provided to management and strive to continuously improvement FP&A efficiency and effectiveness * You actively review how we can improve speed and timeliness of FP&A activities, without compromising accuracy, by suggesting system enhancements and operational improvements * Build relationships with other finance leads to increase overall finance organization effectiveness * Form relationships with leaders across the business in order to understand opportunities and risks so we can better serve the organization financially * Assist with special projects that support corporate, global and local finance initiatives Qualifications * 1+ year experience preferred; at least 2+ years experience in finance preferred * Experience in budgeting, forecasting and reporting strongly preferred * You have a strong academic background with proven commercial acumen * Finance or accounting degree preferred * Experience working for a global multinational organization, in a high growth, fast paced, and dynamic technology-driven environment is strongly preferred * You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to routinely interact with an executive level audience * Hands on, can do attitude, results orientated, highly organized, detail-oriented able to handle complexity, ambiguity and time pressures * Highly developed interpersonal style with emphasis on building strong long term relationships particularly across various geographies and cross-functionally * Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite of products required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Other financial system product experience preferred (Oracle, Hyperion planning, etc.) and/or other analytics tools such as Tableau Equinix is an equal opportunity employer.
