Midland Basin Overview

ConocoPhillips holds approximately 376,000 total net acres in the Midland Basin, which includes approximately 251,000 unconventional net acres located in the heart of West Texas. The company operates over 3,100 wells across Midland, Upton, Andrews, Martin, and Glasscock counties.

In 2022, the company operated five drilling rigs and brought 111 operated wells online. Net production in 2022 averaged 140 MBOED.

Description

As a financial analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting, interacting, and problem solving with all Permian assets and various leaders to ensure adherence to proper accounting processes.

The position captures, analyzes, and reports monthly financial results to support both asset and organizational goals. Additionally, the position will assist with data automation, visualization, integration, and assisting Permian teams as needed. Typical duties include research and analysis, process improvements, and management reporting. The position is a key liaison between all the asset teams and the finance and planning teams.

Responsibilities may include:

• Actively monitor Permian's KPI's to benchmark activities

• Work closely with the Permian asset FAs to understand variances vs. prior month and outlooks

• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports/PowerPoint to align with the company's internal and external reporting requirements

• Assist in building reports and/or analytical dashboards using Business Intelligence software such as

• PowerBI, SAP and/or Spotfire when applicable.

• Key resource for the field personnel during NextGen implementation

• Be able to analyze data in an effort to identify trends and recognize errors

• Attend monthly Permian accrual meetings

• Analyze and develop improvement strategies for PPAs

• Serve as cross functional support for the Permian Integrated Operations Team

• Coordination of special projects as requested

• Perform ad hoc reports/analysis and additional projects or tasks as assigned by supervisor to fulfill business needs

Basic/Required:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

• 3+ years of SAP experience

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word

• Intermediate proficiency with analytics solutions such as Spotfire and/or Power BI

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, other related technical field, or foreign equivalent

• 3+ years' experience as an analyst within the oil and gas industry

• 1+ years of experience in technical or reporting analysis role

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work independently, problem solve, multi-task, and be self-motivated

• Ability to understand business needs and maintain good relationships with a multiple discipline teams

• Understands how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business

• Prior experience supporting operations

• Invites dialogue to gain a shared understanding and influences with confidence to drive performance and achieve business results

• Builds strong relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals

• Experience crafting visualizations for analysis using a variety of business intelligence tools

• Knowledge of major financial/operational value drivers in the E&P industry with the ability to quickly grasp key aspects of asset modeling

• Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right

• Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals

• Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
