Strategic Pricing Analyst

Assist with thedevelopment of financial models and tools as well as provide analysis andpricing of healthcare software products, consulting services and operational

Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for the healthcare industry. This role will heavily interact with businessunit operations, product management, finance, accounting and sales teams to createtools that provide appropriate and accurate pricing in support of thebusiness. In addition to building toolsthat model the drivers of operational expense, this role will develop pro formaforecasts of performance and provide consulting to optimize profitability andROI.

Responsibilities

  • Determinedrivers of expense/revenue as well as unit costs and using this information,construct tools that model business operations and project revenue.

  • Developnew and refine existing tools to improve Pricing Team operational efficiencyand effectiveness.

  • Workvarious business units and product management teams in the commercialization ofnew products and services in the development of supporting pricing tools and/ormodels.

  • Comfortablewith ambiguity and must be able to create complex models from scratch as wellas integrate new products/services into existing tools without breaking currentfunctionality or performance.

  • Buildintegrity mechanisms into tools that ensure compliance with GAAP rules,discount ceilings and minimum thresholds of margin performance.

  • ConstructPowerPoint presentations that summarize proposed model solution and obtainbuy-in approval from business unit constituents.

  • Aspart of the training protocol, must be comfortable with:

Preparingprice quotes and managing the financial profile of complex deals.

Preparing,seeking approvals for, and presenting price quotes for new offerings that arenot perfectly defined.

Developingpro forma profitability forecasts for complex sales deals.

Developingand designing plans and strategies to support the sales organization.

Partneringwith others on process improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor'sdegree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline.

  • Minimumof five years related experience; seven or more years preferred.

  • Strongbusiness acumen and foundational knowledge of finance and accountingprinciples.

  • Advancedanalytical and mathematical skills.

  • Advancedproficiency in Microsoft Excelthat includes building macros, pivot tables, complex lookup functions,regression analyses, and conditional logic nested IF statements.

  • VisualBasic and database programming skills preferred, but not required.

  • Knowledgeof the payer side of the healthcare industry preferred.

  • Knowledgeof software principles and IT hardware as well as staff augmentation orbusiness process outsourcing preferred.

  • Advancedwritten and verbal communication skills.

  • Advancedorganizational and comprehension skills.

  • Notravel.

The Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Finance Team. The Financial Analyst will be an analytical, operationally oriented professional who is able to aggregate, disaggregate, and interpret financial data to convey business results. This role will primarily support the Product organization in enhancing visibility to key financial and operational metrics and data by creating dashboards, reports, and presentations for the Product leadership team. Cross-functional partnership is a key element in this role as this individual will bring a financial perspective to operational support and decision making. The Financial Analyst will be change-oriented and will continuously seek ways to improve existing FP&A processes. Key Responsibilities: * Help to tell the story of Ping Identity's performance, including the preparation of managerial reports within assigned area of responsibility, assisting with the preparation of presentations to the Board of Directors and internal business units, and conducting month-end close functions including variance analysis and explanations and communicating significant or unusual business matters; * Perform ongoing and one-off analytical exercises that help bring insight into results; standardize some of the analytical needs of the business; build sustainable benchmarking / peer comparison dashboards that illuminate the Company's performance versus others; work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and implement reporting needs * Continuously improve upon existing monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting and operating processes; drive automation and simplification; * Support business functions in managing cost and headcount requests; serve as the financial steward and support the financial aspects of key operating decisions; * Facilitate driving the annual financial planning process Skills/Requirements Essential Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or closely related field * 2-4 years of relevant finance experience; at least one year of general accounting or finance work experience, including internships, co-ops and other work experience gained in the field during completion of degree; * Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills Desired Qualifications: * Prior experience within an FP&A organization desired, as is prior experience within a public company environment; * Software / SaaS / technology experience preferred, but not required, as is experience supporting a recurring revenue / subscription business model; * A working style that is comfortable with driving change, and effective at managing interpersonal relationships; * Experience working within internal financial applications to extract data and attributes needed to effectively tell the performance story; * Familiarity with Salesforce, NetSuite, and Adaptive Insights is a plus; * A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making; * Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders Ping Identity Denver CO
