The Controller's group within Citizens Bank is seeking an individual to work on the Treasury Operations team, reporting to the Liability Team Manager. Primary support is to Treasury & Balance Sheet Strategies with additional operational support provided to Treasury Solutions, Government Banking, Commercial Deposit Services, and other areas as needed. The individual will perform accounting and reporting activities for a wide variety of functions and will partner with the team's internal customers to provide expertise and guidance.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Balance Sheet Strategy team's funding & liquidity initiatives

  • Support the bank's overnight deposit sweep products including daily processing, reporting & troubleshooting

  • Support bank debt, preferred stock issuances and CFG stock -settlement, accounting, reporting.

  • Partner with the various lines of business throughout the bank regarding new product development and implementation, accounting issues, training and instruction.

  • Prepare daily and monthly journal entries related to a variety of operational needs

  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations

  • Participate in accounting system implementations, upgrades and other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3-5 years of work related experience in a large multi-divisional/multi entity company (banking preferred).

  • Working knowledge of Treasury products which include investment securities, debt, & stock issuances.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Good understanding of accounting principles and practice

  • Ability to prioritize, perform and coordinate tasks in a fast paced environment

  • Initiative, curiosity, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team

  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization

  • Outstanding customer service skills

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office

Education, Certification and/or Other Professional Credentials:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Accounting/Finance

Hours and Work Schedule

Hours per week: 40

Work schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
