The finance function at Chimera Securities supports executive management in financial operations for the Firm. The Financial Analyst will oversee PNL reporting and analysis and support the financial accounting and regulatory reporting process. This role requires advanced use of Microsoft Excel and experience working with automated processes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reconciling and analyzing trading, executions, and overhead costs
  • Trader accounting and payouts
  • Maintaining financial schedules
  • Supporting monthly close processes including bookkeeping accruals
  • Support with annual audit
  • Various ad-hoc analysis projects for management
  • Providing analysis and interpretation of various financial data



  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 2+ years of business experience in a similar role
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential
  • Proficiency in using advanced formulas, power query, pivot tables, etc.; VBA/Macros a plus
  • Able to quickly turnaround ad-hoc requests
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills are required
  • Self-motivated with a focus on driving results
  • Familiarity with scripting a plus

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The candidate must be proactive, ambitious, and perform at a high-level in a client-focused, highly time-sensitive, and collegial atmosphere. A strong grasp of real estate and financial principles as well as modeling concepts are crucial to the success of this role. Strong analytical skills are critical. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) required. Experience with Excel/spreadsheet modeling is highly recommended. Exceptionally strong work ethic, team player, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
