Job Overview:

As a Senior FP&A Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in our Finance team. You will leverage your analytical and collaboration skills to provide insights that guide decision-making across the organization. We are seeking candidates who are adept at financial modeling and analysis and possess a natural curiosity to explore the "why" behind the numbers. Your ability to work collaboratively within teams and across different departments will be essential in driving our strategy and financial future forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions, specifically with regards to owning revenue and marketing forecasting for all company business lines

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models to forecast expenses and cash flow.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and ensure alignment on financial objectives, such building the annual budget with department heads and Canto executives

  • Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards, such as monthly Budget vs Actuals and Quarterly Reforecast reporting, to senior management, highlighting key trends and actionable insights

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial planning and analysis.

  • Actively participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring not only accuracy and alignment with strategic goals but also providing opinions and potential solutions to operational challenges affecting the financials

  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, investment banking, consulting, or strategic finance

  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to show analyses in digestible and when needed, influential ways for executives and senior leaders

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail

  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in teams and across organizations to drive results

Preferred:

  • Experience with financial planning software (Mosaic specifically) and ERP systems is a plus

  • Experience working in SaaS

  • Experience working at PE-backed or VC-backed companies

Skills and Competencies:

  • Communication Skills: The ability to effectively convey complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders is crucial. Clear communication ensures alignment and understanding across departments.

  • Collaboration: Working well in teams and across different organizational functions is essential. This role often involves engaging with various departments to gather insights and align on financial goals.

  • Curiosity and Analytical Thinking: An innate curiosity to dig deeper into data and understand the underlying factors driving financial performance is vital

  • Problem-Solving: The ability to approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset is important.

  • Self-starting: While this role will be working closely with the rest of the Finance team and across the organization, this person will also need to be able to work autonomously at times, taking unstructured problems and running with them to find a solution without someone always checking in or looking over their shoulder

  • Adaptability: Given our industry and the growth of the company, it is important that this person be flexible and open to adjusting strategies in response to new information or shifting business need.

  • Attention to Detail: The team needs to be able to trust that information is correct and free of careless mistakes because there will not always be time for detailed review before analyses are shared broadly

  • Comfortability with Imperfect Data: We are often forecasting with incomplete data sets and need to think outside the box to find solutions

  • Time Management: The ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously is crucial in a fast-paced environment, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality
