Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated finance professional to join Americas Territory Sales Finance team. This is a Financial Analyst role reporting to AMER Territory Finance Analyst Manager. The position is primarily focused on supporting Americas Territory business through strong collaboration with the Americas Territory Finance Business partners, Finance director, and the AMER sales teams.

The right candidate for this role will demonstrate strength in financial aptitude, business intuition, communication & collaboration, ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and the capability to work at multiple levels.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with AMER business leads to deliver weekly sales forecast package to VP of Sales

  • Prepare analysis regarding quarterly trends that deliver insights into business performance and identify potential forecast risks/upsides, etc

  • Support quarter-end close processes & activities which include a daily forecast, quarterly business reviews (QBR), and other related analysis

  • Prepare monthly foreign currency forecast & partner with treasury team so that exposure is properly hedged

  • Provide strategic & tactical support for annual planning team efforts

  • Work with Finance Directors & FBPs to develop reporting solutions as needed

  • Adopt new, innovative tools & systems and become team expert in using them

  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders and establish & nurture strong partnerships

  • Participate in cross-functional or intra-team projects including projects related to streamlining and/or improving processes and systems

  • Recommend improvements to achieve and deliver better results. Share & adopt best practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficient in PowerPoint

  • Strong aptitude for and experience with financial software (e.g. Power BI, Business Objects, Anaplan, Qlikview, SFDC, etc)

  • Proven track record of managing large datasets with the ability to tackle complex issues using financial models and quantitative analysis

  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment as needed

  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership potential

  • Highly energetic and self-motivated, capable of working to firm deadlines

  • Enjoy working as part of a global team

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or CPA degrees

The Financial Analyst will be in Vigors corporate finance group. The role develops and prepares financial analyses of Vigors business and develops tools to monitor the operating and financial performance of the company. You will work on cross-functional teams to understand the business and its trends. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the jobs overall responsibilities.) * The Financial Analyst will work with the Finance Manager and other finance and accounting colleagues to analyze the company and its business units. * Support the management team in weekly and monthly review of projects and financial results. * Assist in the review of monthly projects EACs. * Lead the monthly update of business unit financial forecasts. * Review month-end revenue recognition, WIP schedule, and overhead. Ensure differences are reconciled and adjusted. * Work with business unit managers to identify critical business unit reports, assist project team with report development, liaise with FP&A and IT. * Identify and quantify cost savings opportunities, make recommendations to managers, assist in planning and measuring results. * Participate in specific business unit projects as the finance specialist. * Ad hoc analysis, as requested. JOB SCOPE: The Financial Analyst will be in Vigors corporate finance group. You will work on cross-functional teams to understand the business and its trends. In this position you will have a high degree of exposure to Vigors senior management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This role does not have staff directly reporting to it, however does interact closely with various managers and staff throughout the business unit to obtain necessary inputs and information in executing its own deliverables. INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: Interact on a day-to-day basis with Vigor Industrial management, including the Director of Finance, Corporate Controller, CFO, IT department, finance and operations colleagues in the business units, and others. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Experience with enterprise level ERP systems and BI tools (Admin level) * Experience in financial modeling * Advanced skills using Excel, Word, PowerPoint * Ability to perform in-depth analyses and reviews of large data sets from multiple sources * Analytical ability to research problem areas and make conclusions * Ability to deliver results in a team environment * Confidence to ask questions, intelligence to know which questions to ask EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: BA/BS Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required (may be substituted with general business degree and appropriate level of experience). Two to Four (2-4) years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities. Financial modeling and analysis, budgeting, and/or accounting, preferably in a project based environment. Experience with government accounting is a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage financial performance of projects, analyze business problems, and communicate results of analysis. Advanced spreadsheet and database query tool experience required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: None required, but any relevant certifications are helpful. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. The person may be need to work more than 8 hours a day and/or on weekends. Good finger, hand and wrist dexterity required for extensive computer operations is required.
