The Financial Analyst is responsible for performing quantitative analysis in support of various sales, corporate and servicing operations groups.


  • Extracts and analyzes financial data including: actual versus budget, current and prior year forecasts and variances.

  • Reviews monthly forecasts and recommends forecast changes/course corrections and makes necessary adjustments.

  • Analyzes variances and ensures resolutions are implemented.

  • Develop /expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations.

  • Perform detailed financial reporting analyses, including discussions on various issues.

  • Prepares ad hoc reports as needed.

  • Support other analysts and operational departments as required.


  • College degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 4 year financial reporting experience.

  • Previous experience in mortgage and/or financial services preferred

(Parent Company), is hiring a Financial Analyst in its Coppell, Texas office. The Financial Analyst is responsible for overseeing and assisting GWCs Controller with the functions of budgeting, forecasting, business cases, bids, margin analysis, cost studies, bottoms up revenue linkage between targets and operational execution, subcontractor/labor margin analysis, and other financial metrics. This role will be broad based, with duties that include cross functional interfacing with GWs three Lines of Business (LOBs), the Parent Company and numerous internal departments. It is expected that the incumbent obtains the required financial information, properly analyzes it, and then accurately and timely prepares the required work product to meet the business financial needs. This position requires professionalism, confidentiality, a customer service mindset for both internal and external customers and strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal. This individual must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment and perform tasks with minimal of supervision. Microsoft Excel proficiency is a must, along with proficiency in accounting software. Specifics: This position is responsible for partnering with the 3 LOBs and performing the following duties: * Assist the Controller and the LOB VPs in the financial modeling for new business cases, Customer bids, and lower value bid sheets that are required before bid submission. * Meet with the LOB VPs each month to review actual versus budget variances and assist with building and overseeing any remediation plans on overseeing low performing markets back on target. * Review project profitability for selected projects, including revisions to project revenue and cost assumptions projects. * Assist in building the bottoms up approximate $100 million revenue forecast for each of the 3 LOBs, including revenue by project, by market, by week, with comparisons to actual results. * Review all COGS sheets greater $75K and statistically review those of a lower scope, including analyzing trends and payments to subcontractors, which total more than $30M per year. Perform special projects as needed, such as vendor discounts and retainage, cost allocation within LOBs. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelors degree in Accounting. MBA a plus * 3-5 years accounting/finance experience; Construction and/or Telecom experience a plus * Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office applications including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook * Proficient in various financial and data base software, including Intacct,, or similar enterprise system. * Outstanding organization skills and strong orientation toward fast-paced, time sensitive business operations * Maintain professional and customer service focused internal and external relationships GW Communications Coppell TX
