This position is a developmental assignment that provides interns with real-time projects, career growth opportunities and opportunities to learn about Sabre and the travel technology industry. Work assignments are relevant to current business needs and allow students to gain valuable business knowledge as well as exposure to leaders through presentation of project deliverables to senior management.
The Finance Analyst interns are given significant responsibility to drive both business and financial decisions to deliver results. Finance interns are expected to evaluate and quantify new business ideas, and perform data-intensive analysis to drive meaningful change and improvement to the way we serve our customers.
Within Finance, each Divisional Controller team partners with their respective Business Unit (BU) to provide financial analysis and investment planning support, which often includes analysis of headcount, capital and operating expenses. We are looking for team members who will drive innovation and evolution within our business as we assist each BU to deliver new tools and technology to reimagine the business of travel.
Analysts responsibilities include developing business cases and financial analysis for BU proposals as well as gaining exposure to planning, forecasting and aspects of the monthly close for one or more Sabre business units. Analysts are also expected to design and improve departmental business processes, work on ad hoc projects related to the Sabre's strategic priorities and present original analysis and strategies to senior management.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Currently pursuing a BS/BA/MS with coursework in a quantitative business discipline or related field (finance, economics, accounting, supply chain, mathematics, statistics, etc.) and have completed junior year by May 2019
Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to assemble information, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions, and present recommendations
Ability to make independent judgments and decisions while taking ownership of job responsibilities
Ability to maintain data integrity and ensure accuracy of results
Ability to work well within a team environment
Demonstrated skills utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
