Position Title: Financial Aid Services Coordinator

Description:

Reporting to the Assistant Director, and working closely with the management and counseling staff, the Financial Aid Services Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of front office operations.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, and working closely with the management and counseling staff, the Financial Aid Services Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of front office operations.

Telework:

A hybrid telework schedule may be available.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include:

  • Supervising and managing the reception area of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships

  • Overseeing at least one dozen student Front Office staff

  • Managing the document imaging process and phone/email responses

  • Providing administrative support to the Assistant Director for the Maryland Higher Education Commission's State Aid Programs

  • Maintaining and reporting information collected from the student tracking system

  • Managing Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships' social media accounts

and calendar

  • Coordinating the inventory and distribution of financial aid and scholarship materials and other publications

  • Serving as a liaison to offices across campus that impact our service to families at UMBC, especially Student Business Services and the Office of the Registrar

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

This individual will also suggest ways to enhance our customer service including online materials, communications and data collection.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Two years of related experience in customer service and/or higher education

  • One year of experience with federal and/or state financial aid programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, document imaging and providing exemplary customer service
