About the University of Cincinnati

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is accepting applications for a Financial Administrator 2 position. The Financial Administrator 2 will support the Chemistry, Physics and Biology departments. Duties are of moderate complexity and require some degree of fiscal, problem solving, training and team coordination responsibilities. Major duties will include administrative, fiscal, grant, and general duties.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule for those with a residence within OH/IN/KY. Residence must be within the Cincinnati Tri-State area with reasonable distance to UC Main Campus to have the ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.

Job Overview

With limited guidance, oversee the planning and supervision of the fiscal administrative activities of several units.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate and monitor fiscal administrative duties; ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with university, local, state and federal requirements and standard accounting and audit procedures, including all compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Assist faculty and research staff with the processing of financial transactions for federal, state, and private grants, contracts, and any other external funding sources.

  • Assist faculty, staff, and guests with travel and expense reimbursement processing which includes reviewing and preparing expense reports for reimbursements.

  • Assist in the development of unit policies and procedures.

  • Monitor the financial status of unit programs and other budget allocations.

  • Implement policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Prepare financial reports.

  • May coordinate personnel functions for an operating unit at less than 25% of duties.

  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree must be in accounting or related work.

  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Two (2) years of finance or accounting experience.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
