Location

This position is based out of our Kiewit Plaza at 3555 Farnam St in Omaha, NE. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Workpaper preparation for wholly owned entities

  • Subsidiary financial statement, including footnotes

  • Preparation and distribution of Joint Venture financial results

  • Establish trust and productive working relationship with field personnel and construction partners

  • Effectively communicate with other Accountants, Supervisors and Managers

  • Assist in CFO packet reports and other analysis as necessary

  • Journal entry preparation

  • Reliable and consistent attendance

  • Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement process improvements

  • Perform other work-related tasks as needed or assigned

Qualifications

This position requires self-awareness and initiative. This individual must be assertive to take on learning activities and grasp developmental opportunities. A successful candidate will be highly motivated and have the ability to build relationships quickly and naturally. These relationships will bring this candidate the credibility needed to operate as a successful business partner within the Kiewit.

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs including Office, Excel, and Outlook

  • Knowledge of basic accounting functions and journal entries

  • Effective communicator. Ability to provide information to supervisors, co-workers and internal customers clearly and accurately, as well as accurate, efficient and corrective feedback

  • Clear, fast thinker who is able to translate business needs into pragmatic solutions

  • Highly motivated and self-directed; initiative and a sense of urgency to get things done

  • Excellent analytical skills. Ability to analyze underlying principles, reasons or facts surrounding financial reports

  • Good attention to detail, with ability to recognize discrepancies

  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to plan and prioritize work, and handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to use logic and reasoning to analyze and identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

  • Successful completion of Intermediate Financial Accounting, Introduction to Tax and

Introduction to Auditing preferred

  • Prior work experience with using multiple technology systems preferred

This is a corporate office in a professional office setting. Responsibilities * Assists in the preparation of the annual and quarterly consolidated income tax provision process under U.S. GAAP, ASC 740 * Assists in the preparation of the consolidated effective tax rate, forecasts, and related analysis * Prepares reconciliation of deferred tax asset/liability calculations * Assist in various financial reporting tasks as part of the quarterly and year-end close processes * Assists in the preparation, review and analysis of quarterly and year-end financial work papers and consolidations * Assists financial reporting supervisors with other accounting-related matters, ad hoc requests, and special projects * Collaborate with corporate tax department for preparation of the consolidated provision and tax accounting matters, including research of technical tax topics * Prepares related footnotes for parent and subsidiary financial statements * Support internal and external auditors with the annual audit Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting * 2+ years of experience in public accounting (audit or tax) * Strong analytical skills.
