Our Capital Markets team manages the interest rate and operational risks associated with the origination, sale and servicing of mortgage loans, and provides liquidity for the mortgage assets originated by Wells Fargo.
Financial Accounting Consultant provides project management and consulting services in areas of Governance and Oversight and COSO compliance in support of Mortgage Held for Sale assets within Consumer Home Lending: Capital Markets Financial Accounts and Reporting (CMFAR).
The successful candidate must work onsite at the Frederick, MD location. Remote applicants will not be considered.
General responsibilities include:
Support CMFAR Financial Accounting Sr. Consultant with GAAP, Regulatory, internal or other accounting or reporting initiatives and changes
Provide COSO, Governance and Oversight, KPMG, OCC, Internal Audit support as needed
Work with business partners to collect financial data, performing detailed and high level analysis, review for accuracy, identifying and resolving problems
Analyze impacts of new accounting guidance, corporate initiatives, etc. and recommending efficient, solutions
Lead the planning and implementation of ad hoc Governance and Oversight or COSO Compliance projects
Prepare/review month end or quarterly reporting as requested
Provide input/analysis/reports/results for ad hoc requests
Other ad hoc projects as required.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supports Capital Markets Financial Accounting & Reporting team in all areas of Governance and Oversight, ABUS and COSO requirements including:
Oversee and facilitate control and documentation requests.
Timely and accurate completion of compliance requests.
Collaborate with oversight teams to meet objectives.
Prepare and review documentation required under the COSO and Governance and Oversight frameworks including creation and/or maintenance of documentation related to Regulatory and SEC reporting.
A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting
Ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) skills
Financial analysis experience
2+ years of compliance experience
Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Solid critical thinking skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
