Position will be responsible for equity investment accounting, technical issues research and documentation, account reconciliation package compilation and review, asset divestitures and other asset-related transactions and various special projects within the Financial Accounting group. Position will also assist with the preparation of various federal and state regulatory filings. Position will interact with the entire accounting group as well as operations, marketing, executive management, and joint venture partners.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Equity investments and preparation of related account reconciliations

  • Variance/flux analysis for monthly management meeting materials

  • Journal entry preparation

  • Assistance with asset divestitures and other large asset-related transactions

  • Technical issues research and other ad hoc research

  • Preparation of various federal and state regulatory filings

  • Account reconciliation package compilation, review, and tie-out

  • Special projects as needed

  • Process improvement evaluation and implementation

  • Various other analysis and reporting for management

  • Support for financial reporting, tax and internal/external auditors

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Experience handling multiple projects and managing priorities

  • Capable of establishing effective working relationships that promote teamwork and collaboration

  • Ability to assist with strategic development and execution of financial accounting projects

  • Well-developed analytical skills and experience

  • Ability to understand and convey complex information in order to develop a solution or approach

  • Effective in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to and managing change in a positive and proactive manner

  • Self-directed, motivated and results-driven approach to work, with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to independently develop innovative solutions to problems/challenges as they arise

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Accounting degree

  • CPA preferred

  • 1 - 2 years of accounting experience, strongly prefer public accounting experience

  • Technical issues research experience required

  • Midstream oil and gas experience a plus

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills

  • Oracle R12 or later experience a plus

Essential Duties * Studies specifications, building plans and shop drawings to determine tools and equipment required and the appropriate sequence of installation. Follows hanger spacing and load requirements based on specs and owner requirements. * Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, urinals, water heaters, water softeners and others. * Locates and marks the position of pipe, pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using ruler, level and laser. * Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings, using hand and power tools. * Installs sleeves and leave outs for roof and wall penetrations. * Digs, backfills and tamps ditches using shovels, picks, and tampers. * Cuts, reams and solders copper tubing/piping, braze, solvent weld, fuse groove and thread pipe using pipe cutters, reamers, torches, allow gaskets, solvent cements, fusing machines, press fittings, grove and pipe-threading machines. * Assembles and installs valves, pipes and fittings composed of metals, i.e. iron, steel, copper, brass, lead and non-metals, i.e. glass, vitrified clay and plastic using hand tools and power tools. * Joins pipe using mechanical solder, brazing and pipe joining methods. * Fills pipe systems with water or air and reads gauges to determine system leaks. * Maintains the work area in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations (should support implementation of 6S). Maintains required personal tools, and properly uses all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED 5+ years preferred Trained and qualified to operate machinery such as scissor lifts, aerial lifts, fork lifts, etc. Requires proficiency through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
