Job Description and Duties
Candidates must perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Under the general direction of a Financial Accountant III or IV, the Financial Accountant II will act as a supervisor over staff performing technical and professional financial accounting activities; performing reconciliation and validation activities for accounting system conversion; and developing desk procedures, training curriculum, and guidelines for a variety of statewide financial accounting and reporting activities.
This position resides within the Bureau of State Government Reporting and will perform duties associated with the implementation of the statewide FI$Cal Project which is replacing the State's current financial accounting and reporting systems.

Statement of Qualifications -
The SOQ must be typed in Arial font, 12-point size, and be single-spaced on 8.5" x 11" paper with one-inch margins. Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Experience in implementing or operating in FI$Cal, PeopleSoft, or similar large governmental ERP system.
Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
Ability to supervise professional accounting staff and train staff on accounting matters.
Excellent communication skills, initiative, dependability, and ability to communicate diplomatically and effectively.
Ability to work under pressure.
Expertise in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to multi-task and lead others effectively.
Degree in Accountancy or Business Administration.
Certified Public Accountant.
