Position Summary

The Financial Accountant performs a variety of tasks that fulfill day to day needs of the accounting department. This individual should possess basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. They should be able to answer business related questions in their area of responsibility. The Financial Accountant should also demonstrate knowledge of accounting concepts and be able to apply those concepts to accurately record financial data. This position reports to the General Accounting Supervisor.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Handle all aspects of intercompany accounting for North American operations

  • Accountable for all aspects of fixed assets, including depreciation and project accounting for North America

  • Close fixed asset sub-ledger monthly

  • Prepare fixed asset roll forward and open project report

  • Support internal and external fixed asset audits

  • AP email management and vendor resolution

  • Maintain Supplier List and create new Suppliers as needed in coordination with Purchasing Department

  • Maintain invoice approval hierarchy in Oracle

  • Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet accounts for North America

  • Expense analytics for assigned accounts for North America

  • Manage freight invoices and related month end journal entries (Fed Ex, Agility, UPS)

  • Serve as PCard and Concur Administrator

  • Recommend improvements to current processes to create speed and simplicity

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Bachelors' degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • 3+ years' experience in finance/accounting. Experience in a large company or public accounting preferred

  • Basic accounting knowledge and familiarity with GAAP

  • General understanding of business

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required

  • Oracle R12 experience preferred
