Our innovative, goal-oriented Internship Program is designed to prepare you for various aspects of the Finance/Accounting world. This program consists of paid, intensive hands-on training and focuses on teaching you the skills to be successful in your future.

Responsibilities

As a Finance/Accounting Intern your primary responsibilities will be working with our Director of Procurement and other partners in our Finance/Accounting Department. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Entering vendor contracts and designing a contract management process

  • Building a vendor spend cube

  • Creating expense templates, including working with senior leadership to develop expense budgets

  • Assisting Accounts Payable

  • Shadowing the Finance/Accounting Leaders for day-to-day experience

Qualifications

Successful candidates for the Accounting/Finance Internship must be enrolled in an accredited University or College and be graduating within 12-18 months of the Internship.

Additional requirements of the Internship include:

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background checks

  • Strong background in Microsoft Office- especially Microsoft Excel

  • Interest in Accounting/Finance as a future endeavor

JOB SUMMARY ##### Doctoral interns will complete psychological testing, psychosocial assessments and treatment plans for patients under their care. Interpretation and communication of psychological tests to medical staff, administration, patients and their families will also be utilized within the position. Inters will also provide short and long-term therapy to patients experiencing a wide range of psychological issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, acute stressors and other mood disorders. Interns will also provide behavioral health treatment and discharge planning for patients being discharged from services. # Within the internship, multidisciplinary consultation and coordination with a variety of physicians, hospital staff and other therapists will be essential. High levels of interdisciplinary communication are essential for providing high-quality, ongoing behavioral health care in accordance with patient evaluation, treatment plan and within the scope of their position. Along with these roles, interns will be responsible for external outreach services, in-house education programs and consultation with a wide variety of staff within the hospital system. Interns will also participate in development and selection of patient education materials and services. Ongoing supervision and feedback on training and skillset development will also be a consistent element of performance improvement activities. The intern will perform other duties as assigned. # The intern will maintain pertinent patient data in medical record in accordance with state, JCAHO and Mercy Health System guidelines. He/she will also comply with all Mercy Health System, State and JCAHO policies and regulations. # ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES # # Completes a 12 month, 40 hour per week, 2000 hour doctoral psychology internship Administers a variety of psychological assessments, including pre-surgical psychological evaluations for surgical procedures, risk assessments, neurocognitive screening tools and other testing as deemed useful for clients who present special problems, symptoms, or concerns. Conducts individual therapy with a focus on helping clients explore and learn different ways of coping with stressful situations, identifying and resolve interpersonal conflicts, obtaining support during difficult life events, developing and enhance coping tools and improving personal relationships through more effective communication. Interns will likely utilize a combination of brief and long-term therapy. Runs or co-leads support groups and other hospital-based needs. Investigates case situations and presents information to psychiatrists or other members of the mental health team. Results may also need to be communicated to patient#s family or other individuals pertinent to diagnosis and treatment. Helps patients to respond constructively to treatment and assist in adjustment leading to and following discharge. Participates in performance improvement activities.
