Job Description: Summer is the tax filing season for our annual corporate income tax returns at Serco.

This year, the corporate tax team will prepare and file about 80 federal and state income tax returns first time under the new Tax Reform. Your role in this process will be to collect and analyze the financial data to support the tax return positions and to assist in preparation and filing of the tax returns. In addition, you will perform tax research and participate in state tax audit process. During this process, you will work side-by-side with all members in our collaborative tax team.

This is a great opportunity for you to gain hands-on income tax experience with a large corporation with complicated tax positions. The tax knowledge you will learn on a wide variety of tax issues during your internship will be a solid foundation for an immensely rewarding career in tax.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of income tax returns and related supporting schedules

  • Assist in filing of US federal, state and foreign corporate tax returns

  • Assist in preparation of estimated tax

  • Assist in state tax audits

Serco's Internship Training Program is designed to provide college students the opportunity to learn about Serco and gain meaningful, hands-on work experience in a professional environment. Serco's summer internship program places an emphasis on developing the next generation's workforce.

As part of our internship curriculum we provide the opportunity for each intern to interact with various areas of the corporate office. This includes the chance to attend brown bag sessions with our senior leadership and participate in teambuilding activities with mentors and fellow interns. Our goal is to build a roadmap that leads you to a long, rewarding and challenging career with Serco.

We will work with you to determine your desired career path, and the correct steps to get you to your goals. At the end of the program, each intern will give a brief presentation to our senior leadership summarizing their accomplishments and key takeaways achieved while working with us.

This internship spans over 12 weeks 11 weeks worked and 1 week off for Fourth of July. You will work with your mentor to identify the best times for you to come in and leave work. You will work no more than 36 hours a week with half-days on Fridays.

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or recently graduated.

  • Rising Juniors, Rising Seniors, and Recent Grads Preferred.

  • Finance and Business Majors Preferred.

  • Solid working knowledge in Microsoft Excel

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills

The business addresses Energy Performance solutions in key vertical like defense, universities, prisons, public utilities, schools etc. HBS is currently seeking a Regional Finance Leader for its HESG Business which has a revenue of $300M to $400M. This is a key finance role in HBS, and the selected individual will partner with the VP/GM for HESG and its leadership team to drive profitable growth and strong return on investment (ROI), competitively acquainting new customers, while ensuring an environment of strong controllership and compliance for the global P&L's. The role has 2 direct reports and collaborates with other finance functions to provide end to end finance infrastructure support. Key Responsibilities: * Strategically partner with the VP/GM and leadership team to drive profitable growth through analysis, influencing and action on risk assessment, contracting excellence, pricing, business ventures, customer profitability and cost control. * Partner with controllers to ensure the accuracy of all finance statements and strong project controls. * Provide leadership to expand ROI through efficient deployment of capital investments, working capital and resources. * Act as a "Chief Operating Officer" to ensure global alignment across functional organizations including Services, Projects Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, Sales, IT, HR and Strategic Marketing to achieve business commitments. * Provide thought leadership in effective risk mitigation processes, estimating and contracting excellence, project accountability to budgets, driving cost to serve and productivity initiatives thru labour SIOP while managing a global engineering and estimation team.
