About the Department:

The US Controller Group is comprised of over 60 financial professionals that oversee all financial activity, accounting transactions and economic policy for McDonald's USA, LLC. The various groups within the department work together to provide in-depth financial reporting for both the Company and its franchisees, preserve the internal control environment, develop financial strategies to complement the real estate portfolio, plan for the various business unit's capital, G&A and operating income goals, provide economic analysis on new business introductions such as menu, equipment, and operating procedures and managing our capital investment portfolio.

About the Opportunity:

Within the US Controller Group, the Economic Strategy and Analysis Team is a valued business partner with other US Finance teams and multiple stakeholders, including Restaurant Development, Operations, Franchising, OwnerOperator leadership teams and US Management. Analysis services provided include the financial modeling, consultation, and execution of economic policies and new initiatives for the US Market.

Key Responsibilities:

This position provides an outstanding opportunity for an individual to participate in and learn about McDonald's US business, understand our key financial policies and initiatives that impact our restaurant profitability economic model, and be a part of identifying and implementing new and improved processes and analysis. Responsibilities will include:

  • Review and summarize Relocation/New/Rebuild/Special Venue opportunities to include both McDs R/E and Operator IRR and Cash Flow (50% of time)

  • Partner with the Manager and Development Team to redefine and update the approach and tools used to analyze and prioritize development opportunities

  • Become the Deal Financial Tool (DFT) subject matter expert to include training Development teams as necessary and working directly with programming consultants for any changes/updates needed to the system

  • Other potential responsibilities:

Supporting policy consultation and application with Field Finance and other US Finance teams

Walmart portfolio management to include annual review of Walmarts with leases ending in the next year to determine if McDs should renew or exit, ongoing monthly/quarterly Wal-Mart analysis

Tenant account management

Ad-hoc reporting

Assist with annual closing plan

Key contributor to the LatAm leadership team with insights formulation and action mobilization to support results delivering. Supports the Area team with performance management including key metrics definition and its measurement and proactively highlights potential risks/opportunities. Main Responsibilities * Coordinate the quarterly LBEs/confirmation and Annual Plan submission for Latin America region * Financial review of rolling LBEs/confirmations and Plan submission to provide timely identification and communication to the Area Controller/Area FD on any anomalies, omissions or unexpected trends * Independently consolidate and analyze Area finance reports including providing succinct and relevant commentary on a timely basis to multiple levels of Area and Division management * Responsible to alert Area Controller/Area FD on a timely basis for any issues/unexpected trend in actual/LBE results and proactively offer solutions * Serve as a key business partner with affiliates and Area commercial team to identify, track, and drive projects and key initiatives including the communication of the results on a recurring basis (M&P, Cost Leadership, Commercial Excellence) * Active engagement with Affiliates to learn how they operate, understand their key issues and opportunities * Provide timely and consistent support to Latin America affiliates for day to day issues resolution, including systems (Host analytics, CCI/HFM, GSAT), technical planning questions, Division requirements, etc… * Insights formulation, prompt communication and support with action mobilization and results delivery * Prepare ad-hoc analysis and backup schedules to assist finance and commercial management in decision-making process * Support Area S&OP meeting and reviews Education: BS, Master or CPA preferred * Finance, Accounting or Business related major 5+ years Progressive Finance or Accounting career development. Experience supporting a Commercial or International organization is a plus Technical skills Excel and Financial planning is a must.
