Finance Program Manager

job summary:

A large defense contractor in San Diego is adding a program manager (finance emphasis). Salary and benefits are extremely competitive, and the company will be interviewing immediately! The ideal candidate will have a mix of strong analytical and interpersonal skills, as this employee will have a few direct reports.

Requirements:

  • Supervisory experience required

This position will be located in San Diego, CA. As a part of the program management team the candidate will serve as the Government's primary point-of-contact and to provide overall leadership and guidance for all contractor personnel and subcontractors supporting the program. This individual shall have the ultimate authority and responsibility to commit the contractor team and make decisions for the organization in response to Government issues, concerns, or problems. This person shall be readily available to respond to Government questions, concerns, and comments, as well as be proactive in alerting the Government to potential contractual or programmatic issues. The candidate must be able to anticipate customer needs and formulate and propose solutions that are complex in nature. The candidate will have a strong understanding of program and business operations and will be responsible for achievement of mission critical milestones and contract performance on an ongoing basis. In addition, the candidate will formulate and review strategic plans and deliverable items, determine contract costs and ensure conformance with standards. Candidate will be responsible for leading the introduction of new technologies and capabilities to the existing program and expanding into adjacent markets. Applicant selected will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet and maintain suitability to work government contract requirements. Applicant must have a TS with SCI eligibility. This is conditional position depending on LM's award of a new contract in 2019. Basic Qualifications: Candidate must possess the ability to operate and manage effectively, geographically separated from the supporting workforce and with minimal guidance. The candidate should have demonstrated skills in the effective management and oversight of subcontractors and team members on specific contracts. The candidate should possess a high degree of ethics, strong core values and an optimistic outlook, strong leadership, teamwork, and customer relations skills, exceptional oral and written communication and formal presentation skills, the ability to work independently with initiative, creativity and innovation, and demonstrated program management skills. The candidate needs to be able to work effectively with a diverse group of team members and customers in a fast pace environment that requires multiplexing tasks. Desired Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills (prior lead, supervisor and/or management experience); excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated customer interface skills; demonstrated knowledge of program finance and business operations; demonstrated knowledge of contract ECP process; demonstrated knowledge of the LM capture process; technical orientation, and demonstrated experience with ship operations.
