Job Responsibilities

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at the Charleston Dorchester Department of Mental Health, Administrative Building, 2125 Charlie Hall Blvd, Charleston, SC 29414.

Responsibilities for this Position Title include but are not limited to:

Coordinate and/or perform administrative duties under general supervision, responsible for handling and following complex clerical and billing procedures to bill third party payors for treatment services to patients from all services rendered in all programs of the Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center.

  • Maximizes center revenue by ensuring outstanding claims are processed efficiently and within a timely filing requirement.

  • Claims are efficiently processed through Emedix.

  • Resolving rejected claims.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in third party billing process.

  • Certified Coder

  • Considerable knowledge of methods, principles, and practices of third-party billing programs.

  • Ability to problem solve, handle crisis and the ability to relate well with others
