SENIOR ASSOCIATE, FINANCE OPERATIONS

NationSwell is looking for a Finance Operations Senior Associate who will both support and (in certain instances) lead financial management, reporting and metrics company-wide. This role is for someone excited to apply his or her hard-earned financial analysis, analytical and strategy skills at a growing mission-driven organization. The Finance Operations Senior Associate will help develop and standardize NationSwells financial processes at both a business and platform unit level for budgets, forecasts, key metrics, and ad-hoc financial reporting.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial Reporting + Analytics
    • Strong facility for financial reporting and analysis, at both the business and platform unit levels
    • Comfort in maneuvering through financial statements to monitor the companys financial standing
    • Support long-range planning and quarterly financial forecasting through financial modeling
    • Perform team, revenue, and profitability level forecasting reports
    • Monitor and analyze industry trends
    • Support onboarding and implementation of new financial tools and systems
  • Budgets + Systems Management
    • Support long-range planning and annual budget creation
    • Monitor and manage budgets and expenses throughout the year
    • Innovate and build out the framework and approaches for financial management + sophistication
    • Oversee internal expense + financial reporting systems
    • Consult and coordinate with outside advisors and accounting/tax support
  • Partner Liaison
    • Act as a liaison between NationSwells Accounts team and partners for collections, invoicing, and billing items
    • Develop and routinely generate partner profitability reporting metrics

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance or related field
  • Have 2-4 years equivalent financial reporting experience
  • Tout advanced computer skills (MS Office - particularly Excel); huge plus if you are comfortable in complex data sets and versed in financial modeling
  • Are eager to be the financial backbone of a growing entrepreneurial organization
  • Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Are able to think analytically and problem-solve
  • Can prioritize multiple tasks and work independently on assigned tasks
  • Confidently handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Are excited to work in a mission driven space
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks, or similar a plus

About This Position: We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Associate to support the daily financial operations in our rapidly changing environment. You will be responsible for key items in the month-close, reviewing work of your direct reports, proper application and understanding of GAAP, improving and creating new processes, and working cross-functionally with multiple departments. The Senior Finance Associate will be reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Finance. Responsibilities: * Manage/mentor 1-2 Finance Associates * Manage the full lifecycles of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections * Assist with the month end close process including preparation/review of monthly sales invoicing, and accruing expenses/revenue * Prepare necessary journal entries as needed with supporting documentation * Assist in the annual financial statement audit * Assist in the preparation of income and sales tax returns * Review all employee expenses in accordance with the company's expense policy * Respond to vendor and customer inquiries * Improve the Company's existing internal and existing financial reporting to provide more visibility * Prepare all related schedules for balance sheet rollforward * Work with business partners on policies and processes including sales, legal, and business development * Support and handle the overall details of the company's accounting and financial needs * Develop, maintain, and improve an effective internal control environment * Assist with ad hoc projects as needed Qualifications: * 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting (public (Big 4)/private mix preferred) * 1+ years of management & mentorship experience overseeing a small team or at least 1-2 employees * Strong understanding of GAAP * Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field * CPA/MBA is a plus! * Experience at a publicly traded company a plus * Strong Microsoft Excel skills * Strong communication skills * Self-motivated and able to hit strict deadlines * Strong attention to detail and a team player * An ability to work in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment * Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce a plus Foursquare is proud to foster an inclusive environment that is free from discrimination.
