Responsibilities

Position Overview

HomeServe's unique culture allows for the opportunity to learn and grow quickly while being challenged in a collaborative atmosphere. The Underwriting Manager provides critical support and guidance to the business in an effort to deliver cost efficiencies while reducing operational complexity. Ideal candidates have the desire to learn quickly, enjoy problem solving, and will strive to reach high standards.

  • Summarize complex data, ideas, and concepts into meaningful and concise financial reports and presentations

  • Oversee daily activities of underwriting analysts and effectively communicate areas of accountability while prioritizing work efficiently

  • Work with analysts to review KPI's and trending analysis. Make insightful recommendations based on data in an effort to increase efficiencies and lower operating expenses

  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy and validity of the information being reported

  • Conduct ad hoc research and analysis for department heads to ensure that the best decisions are made in order to achieve operational and financial objectives

  • Assist with the development and implementation of key reports and timely ad-hoc analysis

  • Provide governance and oversight to the end-to-end Underwriting process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an Accounting, Finance or Analytics related field is required

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Analytics, Statistics, Financial Operations or Underwriting is preferred

  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to communicate effectively across all functions and levels including presenting ideas to senior management

  • Expert in MS Excel and Financial Modeling

  • Experience with reporting tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and Hyperion Planning

  • Experience querying databases using SQL is preferred

  • Passionate about continuous improvement and problem solving

  • Demonstrated success in developing a team of analysts
