Description:

  • Maintain an effective internal control environment that adheres to our Business Conduct Policy for Accurate Books and Reporting as well as our established Sarbanes Oxley controls.

  • Direct all financial activities in the Market Center such as billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing and expense management.

  • Manage and complete the entire month end close process to include all General Ledger reconciliations and communications with Corporate Accounting to ensure accurate financial statements.

  • Asset management, including hands-on cash, receivables, and inventory management

  • Preparing and developing the market center business plan.

  • Partnering with the General Manager to develop and execute key strategies and operational objectives

  • Data mining for management decision making purposes

  • Preparing weekly and monthly financial reports to regional and corporate headquarters, which includes earnings Flash, productivity and accountability analyses, product cost analyses, and telling the story behind the numbers

  • Warehouse supervision and facilities support, including reconciliation of periodic inventory counts to perpetual records

  • Reviewing and managing all payroll processing, HR paperwork, vacation/time off, workers compensation, STD, LTD, DOT recording keeping and all other aspects of hiring new employees

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting and finance experience

  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience

  • The ability to read, analyze, and interpret business results and technical procedures

  • Working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley to ensure an internal control environment is maintained

  • Working knowledge of accounting theory and concepts (both analytical and procedural)

  • The ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference

  • Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Excel and an analytical mindset to effectively gather and analyze data to improve the overall business

  • The ability to effectively communicate and present information to local and regional management, clients, and employees is required

  • Requires management and leadership skills in addition to the ability to prioritize, multitask and influence others without a direct reporting relationship

  • Bachelor's Degree

We are currently seeking a Clinical and Manufacturing Finance Manager to join our Finance and Accounting team, reporting to the Corporate Controller. The position will provide support for the Finance and Accounting team with primary focus on clinical trials and manufacturing. Responsibilities include clinical and manufacturing accrual support, monthly budgeting and reporting (including monthly budget versus actuals variance analyses), and long-range financial planning for clinical and manufacturing. The position will also play a key role in helping to build and establish financial processes and best practices as the Company continues its growth. Prior experience in public accounting or similar role is desired. Experience in the life science industry is preferred. Position Responsibilities * Maintain existing and set up new accrual models for clinical trials, monthly. Incorporate changes in contracts, timelines, patients' enrollment data, and site activity data into the models, monthly. Ensure high quality of models with attention to detail, robustness, and accuracy of calculations. * Own the development and maintenance of the manufacturing accrual models. Ensure that all material contracts are modelled and timelines are updated, monthly. * Compare the actual cost of the individual clinical trials with the budget and explain variances monthly to management. * Investigate the key drivers of variances in the actual cost compared to the budget and explain the variances to management, monthly. * Develop the three-year forecasts on a quarterly basis for clinical and manufacturing together with the FP&A, clinical and manufacturing teams. Work collaboratively with internal financial stakeholders and business partners to establish the processes necessary to accurately monitor Clinical and Manufacturing spend against budgets and operating targets. * Recommend and implement process improvements and best practices. Job Requirements * Bachelor's degree in accounting; additional academic focus in finance or other business-related discipline desirable; CPA a plus * 3-5 year of experience in a public accounting firm strongly preferred * 5-7 years of Finance & Accounting experience at a publicly traded company; biotechnology industry experience strongly preferred * Previous experience in clinical and/or manufacturing accruals preferred; experience in financial planning and analysis a plus * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Exceptional attention to detail * Proven communication skills and ability to work effectively with management at all levels * Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience using financial systems * Team player with the ability to work independently and proactively * Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities * Willingness to work in a fast paced and changing environment, meeting deadlines in an accurate and timely manner * Requires excellent attention to detail while not losing sight of the big picture * Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results * Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise As a member of the Ardelyx team, you will help develop therapeutics that are designed to act in the gastrointestinal tract with minimal systemic exposure.
