Manage the financial analysis and insight activities for Medtronic's Restorative Therapies Group (RTG) as part of a dynamic FP&A team. Collaborate extensively with the VP RTG Finance FP&A and the RTG CFO to provide both standardized and ad hoc analysis that drives insights to grow the business. A Day in the Life
Performs and analyzes complex financial modeling, economic analysis and trends related to RTG P&L, capital expenses, working capital and free cash flow.
Lead, coordinate and manage RTG FP&A decision support activities such as long-range growth/profitability scenarios, the impact of risk and opportunities, price volume analysis, Mix/Margin analysis, ROIC, investment opportunities (NPV, IRR) and cost savings initiatives for the RTG senior management.
Develop/prepare reports, analysis and executive level presentation materials for senior management and other stakeholders related to business performance and projections.
Work with large financial data sets. Organize/analyze complex data and interpret/recommend insightful findings for the senior leadership team
Develop, maintain and establish operational specifications for financial information systems through understanding its impact on RTG's financial information flow and ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
Lead complex internal process improvement projects which may include streamlining analysis/reporting processes and other projects as assigned. Serve and participate as key financial lead on multi-functional projects that require a high level of financial and business acumen.
Supervise at least one analyst including providing work direction and guidance, monitoring and balancing workloads to ensure timely and accurate work product while providing positive coaching and developmental opportunities.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
5+ years varied experience in accounting and or finance with increasing level of responsibilities; 3+ years of experience with Advanced degree
Experience using MS Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
MBA, CFA or other professional credentials preferred
Extensive financial modeling experience (advance/expert level MS Excel)
Strong knowledge of Hyperion
Experience preparing executive level presentation using MS PowerPoint (advance or expert level)
Experience working in a fast-paced environment under strict timelines
Successful track record working in a team environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Flexible, friendly, team-oriented disposition that thrives in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience as a manager of people with demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop talent
Strong results orientation and bias for action, including a high degree of initiative and self-motivation in understanding business needs and leading others to meet those needs
Demonstrated ability and success working with minimal supervision, including flexibility to changing priorities in a proactive and self-motivated manner
Comfort with ambiguous project goals but with the intellectual curiosity and persistence to pursue an analysis, wherever it might lead
