Finance Manager, Inventory & Revenue Reporting

Corbion is seeking a Finance Manager accustomed to handling challenging and/or high volume accounting. In this role, you will complete general ledger activities, make accruals or adjustments, identify sources of discrepancies and seek resolution. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, understands the required strict confidentiality of proprietary financial information, and able to prioritize their workload throughout the month to ensure deadlines are met. This role is a hybrid role based at our office in Lenexa, KS and reports to the Sr Financial Reporting Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Timely and accurate closing of the monthly financial books including reviewing and documenting variances to ensure no omissions or errors in the transactions for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting

• Understanding of revenue recognition, as well as COGS and inventory, to ensure all are reported accurately.

• Complete manual journal entries in accordance to IFRS and Corbion internal controls, supported by proper source documents

• Review and post journal entries from Plant Operations accounting team appropriately

• Ensure all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled monthly, including inventory. Variances are researched and resolved timely.

• Partner with other departments (Operations, Sales, Customer Service) to understand the business and ensure there are no surprises during close. Pre-plan with other departments regularly for month end close.

• Support both internal and external audits

• Initiate and implement process improvement and automation where possible to improve manual processes including analysis from systems, acquisitions and divestitures, and special projects.

• Answer email/phone inquiries from internal and external customers in timely and professional manner

• Operate responsibly and comply with company policies at all times

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required. CPA is preferred

• Minimum of 7+ years of accounting experience within a complex accounting environment

• A solid understanding of general ledger practices and GAAP/IFRS compliance

• SAP experience is strongly preferred

• Manufacturing and costing experience is strongly preferred

• Proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software and various accounting systems/databases

• Proven analytical, organizational and time management skills; ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Detail oriented, with ability to analyze and research account variances
