Job Scope: Reporting to the HyCO USA Vice-President, Engineering this position designs and prepares financial and operational performance assessments in support of senior management analysis; coordinates the preparation of monthly financial forecasts and annual operating plans; assists in the completion of financial reporting requirements of the business unit and corporate finance.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the compilation of information used in the review of actual financial results versus forecasted results on a monthly basis:

  • Creation of meaningful financial models that facilitate timely review and analysis of actual results vs. forecasted results

  • Assist in the preparation of presentation material to senior management highlighting the Business Unit's performance versus forecast and versus prior actual periods.

  • Assist in the Business Unit's closing review process

  • Prepare any accrual and adjusting entries as required

  • Support accounting team with percentage of completion billing based on milestones

  • Responsible for the overall coordination of the monthly financial forecast cycle, including:

  • Preparation and administration of forecasting timeline

  • Working with department managers to ensure adherence to timeline

  • Creation / maintenance of meaningful financial models that summarize forecasted financial results compared with prior forecasts, prior actual periods and operating plan

  • Responsible for the completion and submission of Corporate FP&A reporting requirements within Hyperion:

  • Preparation and administration of work process timeline to ensure timely completion and submission of reporting requirements on a month-end and quarter-end basis.

  • Creation / maintenance of models required to complete reporting requirements

  • Compilation of quarter variance reports, income statement variance reports, productivity, capital expenditure, headcount reporting requirements

  • Responsible for the overall coordination of annual planning cycle, including:

  • Preparation and administration of planning cycle timeline; and ensuring compliance by department managers

  • Coordination in development / maintenance of Budgeting Cube environment used for plan consolidation and analysis

  • Coordination with Corporate FP&A to ensure submission deadlines are met timely and accurately

  • Development / maintenance of multiple financial models analyzing plan submissions in terms of financial trends

  • Assist in the preparation of detailed presentations to Praxair senior management

  • Ad Hoch reporting to assist in the evaluation of emerging financial and operational performance trends, including sell-out trends, engineering rate calculations, resource utilization / capacity, third-party consultant support requirements / cost, and cash-flow analysis.

  • Development / Maintenance of multiple financial models, which include but are not limited to:

Position Summary The HyCO Reliability Engineering Manager leads a multi-person support team that works in concert with project engineering, process engineering, safety/environmental, maintenance and operations teams to provide support to achieve strategic and tactical reliability goals. Essential Functions The HyCO Reliability Engineering team is responsible for identification, development, and implementation of innovative solutions to a variety of reliability issues for multiple facilities. The multidisciplinary team is responsible for electrical systems, instrumentation, rotating and fixed equipment. The HyCO Reliability Engineering Manager ensures that team members have the capabilities and tools to work independently and make technical decisions based on full awareness of viability, cost and other benefits. The overall objective of the HyCO Reliability Engineering Manager is to develop and empower the team to ensure the reliable operation of HyCO production facilities, while achieving the lowest life cycle cost. Key capabilities and responsibilities for this position are: * Champions and promotes a reliability-based culture. * Champions and promotes a strong process safety culture. * Manages 9 direct reports (engineers and specialists) and 2 indirect reports. Maintains organizational alignment and cascades goals to the team. Conducts regular performance evaluations and maintains critical goals for each team member. Prepares training and development plans and ensures that required certifications and qualifications are maintained. * Is acutely aware of highest impact issues and drives resolution with a strong sense of urgency and integrity. * Has excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prepares and organizes written presentations, documentation and reports pertaining to HyCO plant reliability. * Actively promotes and supports the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Root Cause Identification (RCI) process for significant failures to prevent reoccurrence. * Qualifies and authorizes team members as Technical Reviewers of Management of Change (MOC) packages and various projects to ensure that reliability needs are addressed. * Identifies reliability improvement opportunities through interaction with team members, region and plant personnel and use of all tools and data available to make decisions. Makes recommendations and justifies new tools, work process improvements and capital improvements to the business. Initiates capital project proposals and MOC packages accordingly. Ensures that ongoing feedback is provided to the global engineering team to ensure that designs are optimized. * Assists the team with optimizing and managing the Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs at operating facilities on an ongoing basis. Ensures that effective work processes are in place to enable Corrective Maintenance (CM) work to be identified and managed. Serves as a champion and advocate of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system. * Actively driving to develop and integrate Predictive Maintenance (PdM) technologies into Linde PLC HyCO facility maintenance. Creation of automated monitoring systems to increase effectiveness and responsiveness on identified problems. * Ensures that reliability-related Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Engineering Standards are developed, reviewed and updated as needed. * Ensures that management systems, information management tools and practices are used to properly manage asset data, process safety information and maintenance history. Analyzes data and utilizes Six Sigma methodologies to identify and perform reliability improvement projects. * Tracks and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and key initiatives. * Manages spare parts strategy and warehousing strategy and activities. * Key driver to assure maintenance turnaround scope includes the right scope based on equipment conditions and PM plans. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives. * Support unplanned maintenance events with field engineering solutions. * Drive the implementation of best practices and operational consistency. * Work independently and make decisions based on full awareness of cost and other benefits. * A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in reliability, maintenance or projects in the chemical, industrial gas or refining industries. * Desired minimum of 2 years of direct experience developing or implementing reliability-related systems and work processes. * Must have strong technical skills. * Must have a positive attitude, be willing to quickly adapt to changing situations, have strong communications skills, and a strong will to build and maintain productive relationships across departmental lines. * Ability to utilize Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) techniques. * Experience using Six Sigma techniques to drive reliability data analysis and improvements. * Ability to facilitate problem solving techniques (such as Root Cause Analysis). * Experience and/or knowledge of infrared thermography, vibration analysis and oil analysis. * Must be able to manage multiple priorities, drive issues to completion, and obtain results. * Must be able and willing to travel to facilities and offices within the US. Expected travel 30% * Must be willing to carry a laptop and cell phone for use during off hours as needed. * Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar desired. * Experience working within or supporting OSHA PSM-regulated facilities or processes. * Knowledge of mechanical equipment, including reciprocating compressors, centrifugal pumps, high-speed turbo machinery, and fixed equipment. * Technical knowledge and exposure to plant processes, electrical systems, instrumentation and control systems. * Familiar with predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and work processes. * Has a positive attitude, is willing to quickly adapt to changing situations, has strong communications skills, and a strong will to build and maintain productive relationships across departmental lines in a matrix organization. * Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams. * Able to manage multiple priorities, drive issues to completion, and obtain results.
