The Role

As a Digital Finance Intern, you will need to approach each day with a positive and open-minded attitude and be ready to learn. This role will primarily be focused on assisting with our team-wide goal of improving the quality of the benefit value capture/investment insights that drive management reporting.

This role is directly linked to management's need for Digital insights that allow them to understand the profitability of our efforts and guide future investment. This internship is flexible and can be customized to provide learning opportunities consistent with the Intern's goals. As for growth/promotion, Lincoln's Finance function always has a need for talent that is well-equipped to succeed in the rapidly-changing world of Finance.

VFS is an integral part of the Volvo Group, one of the world's largest producers of commercial transport solutions, providing services throughout Europe, the Americas, and Asia/Pacific. This position is responsible, working under the leadership of the Director Structured Finance, in developing ABS issuance and other structured finance opportunities for VFS globally. This individual will support VFS' commercial objectives of identifying and executing ABS and other structured finance related transactions. Additionally, they will be cross trained among transaction management and execution, analytics and capital markets operations. This position within Volvo Financial Services Global Headquarters reports to the Director Capital Strategies, Structured Finance and is located in the Greensboro, NC, USA office. This posting is for one position only. Once the final candidate is selected, the title will be finalized based on the candidate's experience and abilities; either Senior Analyst or Manager. Core Responsibilities: * Supports the Director Structured Finance in all aspects of the development, analysis, communication and execution of structured finance opportunities including wholesale and retail securitization and structured portfolio sales across several asset classes in multiple international venues * Supports/drives execution of new transactions and financing platforms, including generation, preparation and analysis of data, and participation in documentation review, negotiation of terms, and pricing and strategy discussion * Supports/drives flawless execution of ongoing operations requirements for VFS' existing retail and wholesale securitization programs, working with the Director Operations and Readiness, to validate all monthly and periodic reporting and ensure that all program requirements are being met * Supports ongoing investor outreach and development strategies * In coordination with Director Structured Finance, interacts with VFS and Volvo corporate and functional representatives, including Volvo Group Treasury, Investor Relations, Corporate Finance, Legal, and Accounting * Works closely with the Director Operations and Readiness to ensure the business' implementation of relevant operational infrastructure for post-closing transaction management * Works in close coordination with the Director Structured Finance on DCF analysis, cash flow modeling, portfolio stratification and analysis and in the development and coordination of static pool analysis and loss stress models, ensuring precision, accuracy and validation of all data and modeling output * Support/prepares internal and external presentations for investors, ratings agencies, senior VFS and Volvo Group management * Support/manages the maintenance of key working relationships with banking partners and rating agencies, trustees and legal community * Participates in the implementation, management and renewal of new financing agreements (ABS, warehouse, portfolio sales) and coordinates with legal, underwriters, rating agencies and internal parties * Supports/promotes innovation within the platform including asset and market expansion * Suggests and implements process and system improvements, KPI, dashboard and performance tracking development based on global systems and finance infrastructure of the business * Perform other special projects as required by the business * Travels to various VFS markets globally (approximately 20%) Required Education and Experience: * BA/BS in Business or related field * Preference will be given to MBA graduates * 5/8 years of experience in finance with a specialty lender, bank or captive finance company * Working knowledge of structured finance and other capital markets products and their application in a captive finance environment a plus * Strong understanding of the customer finance processes and procedures * Proven analytical skills and a strong aptitude for understanding and converting complex financial documents into financial models * Thorough knowledge of commercial loan and lease products including structure, documentation and cash flows * Proven understanding of a broad spectrum of capital markets products including corporate debt, ABCP, ABS and derivatives and the markets in which they trade preferred * Working experience in Treasury and commercial pricing preferred * Working proficiency at the intermediate level in Microsoft Office Excel (expert level preferred) * Working experience with Microsoft Access, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency required; experience with Qlikview preferred * Experience working with varied Internal systems including ABS Suite, Hyperion, and BCS * Direct experience with global financial reporting and planning platform and processes and the development of financial performance metrics and governance models highly preferred. * Proven ability to work multiple transactions accurately and efficiently at the same time * Ability to work independently, exercise sound business judgment, and manage multiple transactions in a fast paced, demanding global environment * Experience leading projects or people a plus; leadership development also a plus * Experience in a global environment preferred * Demonstrated ability to build successful internal and external business relationships * Effective written and verbal communication skills * Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English; additional languages a plus Volvo Group Greensboro NC
