OUR PROGRAM

The Stuart McClure, Founder, Executive Circle Summer Internship Program is an exclusive twelve-week opportunity, inviting interns across different disciplines to work along our senior team members and explore a career within the cybersecurity industry! Throughout the program, there are ample opportunities to participate in career development workshops, complete a meaningful resume-building project, network with the BlackBerry team, and more! Our internship program is structured to develop future thinkers, grant students access to A.I. industry leaders, and provide mentorship to eager students interested in the cybersecurity industry.

THE POSITION

BlackBerry is seeking a Finance Intern interested in financial planning & analysis and gaining corporate knowledge in the cybersecurity industry. As a BlackBerry Summer Intern, you will take ownership of various projects and assisting the team to further department initiatives. Projects are subject to change based on department needs at time of the internship.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist in performing variance analyses on historical and forecasted financials

  • Build and manage dashboards on a cloud financial planning platform

  • Assist with customer relationship management data quality assurance to support quarterly metric reporting for executive leadership

  • Assist financial managers on various functional requests

  • Help with any ad-hoc projects

  • Improve upon the quality and automation of financial reporting process

  • Assist in day-to-day activities to help further department initiatives as directed by team mentors and/or management

  • Work on a given project, as outlined by the manager and/or mentor at the beginning of the Internship program

  • Attend all Internship program meetings, events, and career development workshops

  • Create and present a final project at the program ending ceremony to managers, mentors, and peers

  • Protect BlackBerry operations by keeping information confidential

  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Student enrolled in an accredited university in their junior or senior year (preferred), pursuing a bachelor's degree

  • Able to work full-time hours (40 hours a week) for the entire 12-week program

  • Familiar with accounting principles and financial statements

  • Ability to utilize basic financial terminology in a corporate setting

  • Interest and aptitude for forecasting, financial decision making and reporting

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including, but not limited to PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook programs to complete work on a daily basis

  • Utilizes critical thinking and analytical skills on a regular basis to complete tasks

  • Uses problem solving skills to overcome issues as needed

  • Stays organized, while paying close attention to detail before submitting any work

PAY RATE AND PERKS

Interns start at $15 per hour.

As a BlackBerry Summer Intern, you will take ownership of various projects and assisting the team to further department initiatives. WHAT YOU WILL DO * Gain direct and valuable experience with finance systems and applications during and after an acquisition/merger * Generate and/or reconcile reports from business systems and create custom reports to support specific user groups * Review and approve users on software provisioning lists * Execute a Transition Plan to incorporate and consolidate finance systems * Assist in day-to-day activities to help further department initiatives as directed by team mentors and/or management * Work on a given project, as outlined by the manager and/or mentor at the beginning of the Internship program * Attend all Internship program meetings, events, and career development workshops * Create and present a final project at the program ending ceremony to managers, mentors, and peers * Protect BlackBerry operations by keeping information confidential * Perform other duties as assigned WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR * Student enrolled in an accredited university in their junior or senior year (preferred), pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Information Systems, or a related major * Able to work full-time hours (40 hours a week) for the entire 12-week program * Experience with enterprise accounting software and SaaS (Software as a Service) * Strong knowledge of computers and technology * Understanding of workflows and processes that a record follows * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including, but not limited to PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook programs to complete work on a daily basis * Utilizes critical thinking and analytical skills on a regular basis to complete tasks * Uses problem solving skills to overcome issues as needed * Stays organized, while paying close attention to detail before submitting any work WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU TO APPLY * Current resume PAY RATE AND PERKS Interns start at $15 per hour.
