Position Summary

The Finance Director for the Performance Chemicals segment is responsible for the financial management of the business segment. The position oversees financial management, tracking, and reporting of the segment and its five businesses. The Finance Director, in conjunction with the business GMs, are responsible for driving the performance of the segment and delivering of targets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and direct the management reporting and analysis of financial results, forecasts and budget. Lead and direct analyses to generate insights to support more informed decision making.

    Identify and initiate studies to define opportunities for business profitability improvement. Advise segment management on critical financial matters and assist with strategic decision making. Synthesize and communicate performance and business results to the Segment leadership team and to Corporate.

    Lead financial forecasting and budget process for the Segment. Responsible for monthly and quarterly communication/presentations to Segment leadership team and to Corporate. Ensure all financial transactions/activities are in compliance with statutory accounting principles, generally accepted accounting principles and corporate accounting policies. Effectively practices Performance Based Management by coaching and developing employees, direct as well as matrix reports, and assuring effective alignment with the matrix functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/University degree in finance or relevant university degree. MBA or equivalent work experience required. 15+ years of related experience, including prior managerial experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of financial principles and analytical skills to oversee analyses and projections Excellent communication skills to synthesize and distill complex issues into clear, succinct messages. Ability to plan, organize and manage financial and human resources. Leadership skills to motivate and direct a Finance organization across region.

This role will work closely with BU leadership, Global R&D and Product Management/Marketing teams on operational and strategic plans, playing a highly visible role within the global organization. In this position you will provide financial leadership to Entegris' Wet Etch Cleans (WEC) and Airborne Molecular Contamination (AMC) business units. WEC and AMC are global business units with primary manufacturing facilities in Billerica and Franklin, MA and in Japan. This challenging role will require a detailed understanding of all aspects of the product line's demand function, product pricing, product cost and commercial and technical engagements. You will play a significant role as a member of the BU leadership team and be a key decision maker within each BU. This position has frequent communications with individuals in the BU, Division & Corporate Finance and other functions (Sales, Supply Chain, etc.) in locations worldwide. To be successful, you will need to have the confidence to communicate opinions and influence decisions, be detail-oriented and enjoy learning and working with financial systems. This position is located in our Billerica, MA headquarters location and reports to the Director Finance, MC. In this role you will * Summarize, interpret, and present reporting and analysis of trends in P&L results and other business metrics compared to expectations; recommends and helps implement corrective actions; * Perform analysis on capital investments and new product development projects to insure alignment with BU strategic and financial goals; participates on project teams as appropriate; performs financial analysis of completed projects to compare actual results with original expectations; * Collaborate with business leaders on new business opportunities; provides analysis related to pricing, cost and margin; * Work with cross functional, global personnel to complete key reporting and analysis duties related to the income statements, corporate allocations, and other financial metrics; * Analyze the effect of changes in business conditions, such as product pricing, sales mix and production volumes, and communicates the impact on past and future profitability; * Provide reporting and analysis related to R&D project spending; insures that WEC and AMC project tracking is done consistently with other BU's and divisions; * Insure that the structure of WEC and AMC reporting, analysis and financial-related processes are consistent with other business units and divisions; * Perform month and quarter end tasks and analyses that help insure the WEC and AMC P&L is fairly stated according to GAAP, including valuing accrual levels for warranty, rebates and royalties; * Communicate and work with appropriate Finance personnel regarding the proper accounting treatment for issues such as fixed asset capitalization, revenue recognition and P&L classification of expenses; * Lead the WEC and AMC BUs in the quarterly forecast, annual operating plan and long range strategic plan processes, hold the BUs accountable for achieving commitments, and recommend corrective actions as needed; * Assist the WEC and AMC business units in preparing and inputting budgets and forecasts; * Assist with the global execution of Entegris' planning cycles and in meeting the pre-defined process and system goals.
