Job Summary
This position performs technical duties in support of the city's records management and related functions.
Position is part-time (20) hours per week - four hours per day Monday - Friday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Position is partial benefit-eligible with paid time off and holidays accruals at 50% accrual rates. Position is also South Dakota Retirement System eligible.
Minimum Requirements
100% -
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Essential Functions
Maintains regular and reliable attendance with a physical presence.
Assists the finance officer in the preparation of agendas and agenda packets, prepares minutes, and follows publishing laws for City Council and various committees or other public meetings of the City.
Administers records management of the City; including electronic and physical storage of agendas, minutes, agreements, contracts, invoices, deeds, easements, and various documents; following document destruction procedures compliant with state law.
Provides customer service to city utility and solid waste customers.
Performs related duties.

Supervisory Controls -
The Finance Officer assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
Guidelines -
Guidelines include State Statues regarding document retention and destruction as well as department and city policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific.
Complexity/Scope of Work -
The work consists of related technical duties.Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to provide technical support for city records. Success in this position ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of those operations.
Contacts -
Contacts are typically with city staff, elected and appointed officials, and members of the general public.
Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, resolve problems, and provide services.
Physical Requirements
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, or stooping.
The work is performed in an office.
