JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Sacred Heart Community Service, located in San José, CA, is looking for a Full-Time, Exempt, Finance Business Partner. This individual must be a self-starter, well organized and detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.

They must have the ability to work flexibly and independently. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Finance Business Partner role will be the business partner to the Directors of multiple organizations within Sacred Heart Community Service. The Directors lead the organizations which provide financial and other support to those in our community.

The Finance Business Partner will be assist the Directors and their staff with managing the financial aspects of their programs. This role will also provide support for the development of budgets for new funding grants being applied for by the organization, setting up project codes once grants are secured to ensure proper tracking of time and expenses, as well as invoicing the designated funders on a periodic basis. In addition, the Finance Business Partner will providing on-going advice to the Director and their organization.

In addition, the Finance Business Partner will bne expected to partner with their peers in similar roles to develop and produce a standard monthly reporting package for the organizations they support. There will also be an expectation for process evaluation and improvement including implementing new procedures and processes along with related documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Organization Finance Support (70-75%)

● Assist the assigned organizations in developing budgets for new grant applications

● Establish project codes for new grants and monitor on-going financial status of the various grants

● Providing reporting to the Directors of spending vs the established budgets at both and grant, org and sub-org level

● Assist Organization Directors with planning and monitor of labor costs charged to grants

● Develop relationships with various funders to provide ease of handling any issues which may arise

● Assist with financial aspects of monitoring visits by various government or foundation funders

● Special Projects as needed.

Invoicing (10-15%)

● Development periodic invoicing of all grants for the organizations supported including detailed support

● Follow up with funders to ensure timely processing of payments

Other (10-15%)

● Supports the planning of and participates in agency-wide programs, events, and outreach efforts.

● Supports the planning of and attends staff meetings, retreats, and other team and agency events.

● Provides support and executes other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

● Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline.

● CPA license and/or Master's degree preferred

● Twelve or more years of finance experience.

● Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.

● Ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.

● Ability to work in a team and follow directives.

● Strong commitment to our vision of a community united to ensure that every child and adult is free from poverty.

● Flexible, compassionate, and supportive attitude.

● Excellent computer skills including competence using Microsoft Office - with a particular emphasis on Excel.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

The position is exempt, full-time and reports to the Senior Director of Finance Operations.

COMPENSATION:

The salary is commensurate with experience. Salary range is $90,000 - $100,000 annually.
